Spot the difference: Benedict Cumberbatch was honoured with his very own waxwork at Madame Tussaud's in London this week and came face-to-face with it on The Graham Norton Show

This week he was honoured with his very own waxwork at Madame Tussaud's in London and Benedict Cumberbatch couldn't hide his astonishment when he saw it firsthand.

The 38-year-old actor was greeted with the figure when he was taping an appearance on BBC's The Graham Norton Show and made sure to examine it thoroughly while looking utterly bemused.

Benedict even adopted an identical pose to his doppelganager to allow Graham, fellow guests Miranda Hart, Timothy Spall, and Adam Levine and the audience to see the similarities for themselves.

Gerard Butler + Ryan Kavanaugh Attend ‘Movie 43′ After Party at Madame Tussauds (HAUTE LIVING)

It might be an odd choice for an after party, but those who attended the shindig celebrating Relativity Media’s Farrelly Brothers-directed Movie 43 seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The venue of choice was Madame Tussauds Hollywood, where stars were able to pose with wax figures while imbibing Purity Vodka cocktails (a disastrous situation, for some) and noshing on bites themed to the movie, such as luscious round of melons, big beefy balls and chili beanery.

Gerard Butler eschewed posing with waxwork, opting instead to hang out with Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and rough house with Neil McDonough.

Colin Firth's Wax figure from Madame Tussaud's makes it's escape

I love this picture because
1.  The lighting combined with his expression here makes him look unreal.
2.  He's gorgeous.

Kate Winslet has a wax figure at Madame Tussauds

British actress Kate Winslet, age 36, is the most recent movie celebrity who has been honoured with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds musem in London. The wax figure totally resembles Winslet’s face and body, as it’s really hard to distinguish between the the figure and the actress that inspired the work. The artists have clearly done a wonderful job, outdoing themselves.

The talented artists from the wax figure musem have spent two months in their creative workshop in order to perfectly depict the beautiful, expressive face features of the actress who has won an Oscar in 2009 for the main part of Hanna Schmitz (in the romantic drama “The Reader“). The artists used photos and video recordings in which Winslet took the stage at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, during the 63rd Emmy Awards ceremony. This year’s Emmys awarded her a trophy for her remarkable performance in the TV miniseries “Mildred Pierce“.

The blonde hair of the wax figure is arranged the same way the actress wears it, with some rebel locks falling over her right lid. The stunning red, long dress is pretty much the same as the Elie Saab version, while the long shining earrings and the white-stoned bracelet are also identical to those Kate Winslet wore to accessorize her glamour outfit for this year’s Emmys.

Liz Edwards, PR manager at Madame Tussauds, has praised Sam Mendes’ ex-wife, saying that she is loved all over the world. Edwards commented: “Guests from around the world voted for Kate Winslet in droves – she has clearly got wide reaching global appeal.” She added: “She is an iconic actress of a generation; a true English Rose and we’re delighted to be creating a figure of her.”

Having numerous Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe wins and nominations under her belt, Winslet’s inclusion in the world famous attraction is yet another accolade for the Titanic star. Kate Winslet’s figure will be in the good company of other British actresses, award-winning screen superstars Judi Dench and Helen Mirren.

Winslet was born on 5 Oct 1975 in Reading, England. In 2006, she set the mark as the youngest actress to receive 5 Academy Awards.

Colin Firth is used to handling statuettes - and now he will have to get to grips with being one.The Oscar-winning King's Speech star is being turned into a wax figure for London attraction Madame Tussauds later this year.

Model-makers have finished off the first stage by completing a clay version of his head.
Principal sculptor Louis Wiltshire has put the finishing touches to the lifelike image which will be used to create a mould for the final cast of the actor's head.

The actor - who can currently be seen in the hit spy thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - will join a group of other A-list stars in December.
