‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7: Charlie Hunnam, Jimmy Smits, more heading to ‘Conan’

CARTERMATT
October 30, 2014

While the series finale for “Sons of Anarchy” is getting close to wrapping up as we speak, there are already some plans being set for some promotional appearances after the fact.

With that, we bring to you some of the following news when it comes to Conan O’Brien’s late-night show. On November 11, Charlie Hunnam, Jimmy Smits, Tommy Flanagan, Mark Boone Junior, and Drea de Matteo are all going to appear alongside creator Kurt Sutter. This is the largest group that has ever come together for the show to do a late-night appearance to date.

Could this be a little too massive or confusing? We doubt it. Conan’s a skilled (and funny) moderator, and has already done something like this with “The Walking Dead.”

The timing here is also interesting for a simple reason here, mostly that in theory, “Sons of Anarchy” could still be on air when “Conan” starts. Luckily, we imagine that the TBS show will ensure that the cast appearance is not on the air until after the tenth episode of season 7 finishes up. Sutter and the editors have a habit of making some of their episodes run extremely long, with them going for a full 90 minutes often during this final season.

Sons of Anarchy Season 7 SPOILER: **** is Alive in Episode 11 as Series Finale Hasn’t Been Filmed Yet

EPOCH TIMES
By Zachary Stieber, Epoch Times | October 6, 2014

Nero is one of the characters still alive in episode 11 of season 7, Jimmy Smits has confirmed.

The death rumors have been rampant about the finale season of the hit FX show, but apparently Nero stays alive for at least most of the season.

Smits didn’t reveal whether characters most subject to those rumors, such as Gemma and Juice, will still be alive.

The revelation that filming is happening on episode 11 means that the series finale hasn’t been filmed yet.

Smits told Yahoo that he still doesn’t know exactly how the series is going to end. “We’re all very excited to know,” the actor said. “You think the obvious people would be Katey [Sagal] and Charlie [Hunnam]. [But] they’re in the dark, too, I can say with pretty good accuracy, in terms of what exactly happens — how we close up shop.”

Smits also said that Nero has mixed feelings about his association with Gemma, and Jax, with a reference to how Gemma joked that Nero probably regretted buying her that drink. “Definitely he goes through the gamut of all of those feelings [such as regret], but love sometimes can trump a lot of things. People find themselves doing things that they never thought they would be involved with.

Because of the ticker that he’s got — both he and Gemma have had heart issues — they got something going on that’s more profound than any other stuff,” Smits said. “The feeling of not belonging to a family and then belonging, loyalty, or on the flip side, what happens when you feel that you’ve given so much of your soul to something and then there’s the sense of betrayal … that’s the thin line between love and hate. It’s no joke.”

Sons of Anarchy Spoilers: Will Jax Kill Gemma When He Learns She Killed Tara?

EPOCH TIMES
By Zachary Stieber, Epoch Times | October 2, 2014

Jax might not kill his mother when he finds out that she killed Tara, Charlie Hunnam says.

It’s almost guaranteed at this point that Jax will find out eventually, with both actors and producers on the show confirming it over the past year.

So the real question is what he’ll do about it when he finds out.

“Anyone else in the world, 100 percent guaranteed he’s gonna murder them in slow and brutal fashion, but it’s his mother, you know. It’s gonna be complicated,” Charlie Hunnam told Entertainment Weekly.

“I don’t envy Kurt in trying to figure out the right way to approach that.”

Showrunner and show creator Kurt Shutter wouldn’t delve into the details too much.

“The question is, does Jax ever get the whole truth? Is he supposed to get the whole truth? If he only gets part of the truth, what does that mean? We’ll play with all that stuff,” he said.

“I think once he gets information, as much of it as he gets, we’ll see it play out in a different emotional way.”

Sutter did reveal that a core character dies in episode 9 or episode 10.
