The human movie spoiler returns. Sean Bean, next to be seen on the big screen in The Wachowskis' delayed Jupiter Ascending, has landed a role in Ridley Scott's upcoming adaptation of Andy Weir's book, The Martian.

Bean joins a cast that includes Matt Damon, Jeff Daniels, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Kristen Wiig, and Jessica Chastain. And he'll be taking on the role of NASA's flight director in the movie. Having read the book over the past week, unless there's a significant detour taking with the screenplay, this role is going to offer something radically different for Bean: survival chances.

First Look at Tom Hardy as Twins Reggie and Ronnie Kray in 'Legend'

Above is the first look at Tom Hardy as Reggie and Ronnie Kray in director Brian Helgeland's Legend, a story tracing the tortured and unique relationship between the two brothers, infamous for their criminal exploits in London during the 1950s and 1960s.

Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) penned the script, which takes in associates, rivals - such as notorious gangster Jack "the Hat" McVitie, who was murdered by Reginald in 1967 - politician Lord Boothby, and the brothers' nemesis in the police force, DS Leonard "Nipper" Read, who made it his life's ambition to put the Krays behind bars.
