Pippa Middleton, Michelle Dockery hang out at Wimbledon

LA TIMES
By NARDINE SAAD

Ever wonder what celebs talk about when the sit near each other at public events? Us too! So leave it to Pippa Middleton and "Downton Abbey" star Michelle Dockery to put those gears in motion.

The British ladies were seated near each at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Thursday and they seemed to be getting along swimmingly

Middleton, 30, the younger sister of Kate Middleton -- now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge -- and her bearded brother James sat in the Royal Box at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as they took in the fourth day of the tennis matches.

In front of them were Dockery, 32, who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the wildly popular iTV series that airs on PBS in the States, and her boyfriend John Dineen.

The quartet chatted it up just before the match between Spain's Rafael Nadal and Czech Republic's Lukas Rosol and were photographed laughing together a few times.

Oh, to be a seat filler! We have no idea what they were talking about, but we imagine it being totally posh and poised.

Dockery has a bit of history with the Middletons, who previously had visited the set of Julian Fellowes' lavish period drama.

"Pippa Middleton and James Middleton, Kate's sister and brother, came to visit the set a few years ago," Dockery told Vanity Fair in February.

"I think during [season] two . . . it was a long time ago. They are friends of Alastair Bruce who is our historical adviser and the royal correspondent [for Sky News], so he's had a lot of involvement with the royal family," she explained. "That's why they came. And it was shortly after the [royal] wedding. It was amazing talking to them. And I hear that Will and Kate are fans, too, which is great."

Royals watching fictional aristocracy? We are beyond amused!

The Royal Baby Shower: BORN TO RULE - Royal-Spoof Photographer Alison Jackson Already Has Multiple Infants to Play Kate Middleton’s Baby by Bridget Arsenault (VANITY FAIR)

Kate Middleton baby shower

And in the practitioners-of-art department, celebrity-spoof photographer Alison Jackson told us she already has a “royal baby” lined up and ready to go. “We’ve got one with dark hair and one without any hair.” Not too worried about the baby’s gender? “Just a baby in a nappy is quite nice.”

Until the mini-monarch arrives, her focus remains on Kate: “I have about three [Duchess of Cambridge] lookalikes, and one is pregnant. Otherwise we use a silicon pregnant belly. A portable one,” she says. “People are dying to see pictures. I’ve just done one of William trying to keep Kate cool, so he’s spraying her bump with water.” Chic!

Prince Harry search for Royal bride stars Kate Middleton and Pippa PRINCE HARRY'S PERFECT BRIDEAUGUST 18, 2012BY: RITA WATSON (EXAMINER)

Now that Kate Middleton has joined the search for a bride for Prince Harry, how seriously is she encouraging him to marry her sister, Pippa?

After all, the two are said to be secretly dating as I reported last week.

Ever since the Bisbane Times reported on August 16, 2012, “Why Prince Harry must marry - soon," various media outlets, including Entertainmentwise, have been telling us that "Prince Harry is 'serious' about finding 'The One', and turned to Kate.” Just a year ago Harry was telling us that he would not be married for a long time. But perhaps after the Olympics and seeing his role in the family, he is coming to his senses.

What we know from the early days of the Royal wedding is that Harry and Pippa were on the phone several times a day, much to the chagrin of Chelsy Davey. This could be the dream couple. Although Celebrity Dirty Laundry had a headline read: “Kate Middleton Thinks Pippa Middleton Is Perfect Princess For Prince Harry,” it seems to be just tantalizing gossip.

However, if Harry marries Pippa, Kate can have her wish of having her sister right close by. Several weeks ago RoyalInsight.net told us that Kate wanted her sister to move in, but Prince William said, “No.”

The Manly Man Awards 2011

The Manly Man Awards 2011

Finally, awards for the manly men out there.
We are here today to celebrate those who have helped make the year 2011 truly special: the heroes, the villains, the assholes and the asshats, all are to be given their just rewards/desserts in this, the first EVER CraveOnline Manly Man Awards. These are the people, things and moments that defined your year. So make yourself comfortable, rest your Macbook on your post-Christmas bloated midriff and join us as we remember the f***ed up year that was Two-Thousand and Eleven.

The Most Overrated Arse Award
Winner: Pippa Middleton
Pippa Middleton
Pippa Middleton is an attractive woman, but the furore surrounding her backside following the royal wedding leads me to believe that the entire Western media is run by one solitary 13-year-old boy, who happened to hit puberty at the exact moment Princess Kate’s sister sauntered towards the church entrance. Sure, she’s got a nice bum in the “if she was waiting in the same subway as me I’d probably try to catch a cheeky glimpse of it” kind of way, but nothing that would require me to sit down and miss my next train.

The Biggest Douche in the Universe Award
Winner: Paul Christoforo
Paul Christofo
Paul Christoforo was (was being the operative word) the PR guy for Ocean Marketing and responsible for the distribution and customer support for the Avenger controller. Various infamous emails later with frustrated customer Dave and Penny Arcade’s Mike Krahulik and Christoforo found himself banned from PAX, bombarded with hate mail on his “@oceanmarketting” Twitter account (later changed to the somehow even more poorly spelt “@oceanstratagy”) and on the steady road to becoming an overnight meme sensation.

With his poor grasp of the English language, ridiculous intimidation methods (“I know the Mayor of Boston!”) and awful people skills, Christoforo is now appearing on this wwebsite as on the internet, but for all the wrong reasons.

The Motivational Speech of the Year Award
Winner: Thumbs Up For Rock and Roll!

WE TOO CAN LEARN HOW TO RIDE A BIKE.

The It Was Kind of Funny at First, But Then People Died Award
Winner: Planking
Planking
Back towards the beginning of this year various photos started popping up on Facebook of people lying down in odd places. Then before you knew it this strange practise had received a title, “planking”, and everyone from your granny to multi-millionaire footballers were doing it. It was when plankers started dying in order to pull off these “stunts” that we all felt a little ashamed of ourselves for laughing in the first place.

The A Little Disappointing Award
Winner: Scarlett Johansson
ScarJo
Before 2011 I would’ve quite happily put all my worldly possessions on eBay and sold my Mother to a wealthy Dubai hotel owner in order to spend 5 minutes gazing into ScarJo’s perfect face.

Unfortunately, since the scandal surrounding her leaked nude photos, it seems as though the former Mrs Ryan Reynolds has tried her very best to appear as physically unappealing as possible, veering so far into androgyny that it’s difficult to tell whether she’s a Hollywood A-lister or a cosplayer. Add to this a cringe-inducing D&G perfume commercial and 2011 is the year that Scarlett broke my heart.

The Remember This Guy? Award
Winner: Ted Williams
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rPFvLUWkzs
On January 3rd 2011 Ted Williams found himself thrust into the spotlight after a video of him talking in a voice that sounded like it was smothered in warm honey went viral. Next thing he appeared on a whole host of talk shows before his brief fame became too much to handle and he checked into rehab. Where is he now? Uhh...

The Useless Tweeter Award
Winner: Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais
While I like Ricky Gervais he has always struck me as the kind of guy who would be really annoying if you met him in real life. After he joined Twitter this year it seems my preconceptions were correct as a cursory glance of his feed reveals an endless stream of self-promotion, “funny” Twitpics of his face and, if you scroll back a few months ago, repeated use of the word ‘mong’. It’s like reading the internal monologue of your drunk uncle at a wedding.

The Gee, Thanks Charlie Sheen Award
Winner: Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher
We had almost forgotten that Ashton Kutcher existed: his terrible movies; his overwhelming pretentiousness; his hat. But then Charlie Sheen had to go and have a meltdown, essentially reigniting Kutcher’s career from being typecast as a dough-eyed man child in mediocre romantic comedies to portraying a dough-eyed man child in a mediocre sitcom. As news of his and Demi Moore’s “Kaballah meeting” to fix their ailing marriage made headlines, those sane among us wanted nothing more than for Charlie Sheen to put his Warlock days behind him, apologise to Chuck Lorre and send Kutcher hurtling back into the D-list.

And The Manly Man of the Year Award goes to...
Winner: Sean Bean
Sean Bean
Earlier this year Game of Thrones star Sean Bean (who is 52-years-old) was with Playboy bunny girlfriend April Summers (who is 22-years-old) in the smoking area of Camden’s Hill Bar and Brasserie. After a guy began making suggestive and disrespectful comments towards Summers, Bean confronted him and forced him to leave.

Later on the guy returned, this time becoming involved in an altercation with Bean that led to the actor being stabbed in the arm with broken glass. After the incident Bean refused medical attention, instead opting to buy another drink for himself and his model girlfriend.

Pippa Middleton makes a big impression on the set of Downton Abbey (Telegraph)

Elizabeth McGovern, the star of Downton Abbey, says she was surprised to discover Pippa Middleton on the set of the hit ITV drama.

In Downton Abbey, the Countess of Grantham has to compete with one of her maids for the affections of her husband, played by Hugh Bonneville. In real life, she has to hope that the actor is not distracted by the presence on set of Pippa Middleton.
“I became aware of our high-society fans when I was filming a scene and I looked over to Mrs Hughes, the housekeeper, and there was Pippa in my own home of Downton Abbey,” says Elizabeth McGovern, who plays the countess. “I couldn’t have been more thrilled.
“She looked lovely. I had a big chat with her mum, but didn’t get a chance to speak with Pippa herself.”
Mandrake disclosed in October that the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister and parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, had visited the set at Highclere Castle in Berkshire.

The Middleton family, Prince William's in-laws, have visited the set of Downton Abbey.

After the Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown-Findlay revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are “huge fans” of the series, it seems that the second in line to the throne’s in-laws have taken things a step further.
“The Middletons came to the set — enough said,” Chris Croucher, an assistant director on the series, has let slip. The cast are filming a special Christmas edition at Highclere Castle, the real-life home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.
Lord Fellowes, the writer of the series, tells me he wasn’t aware of the visit, but one imagines Pippa Middleton would have brightened up Hugh Bonneville’s day.

Kate Middleton tops Harper’s Bazaar’s Best Dressed 2011 list; included in list is Livia Firth

Independent.ie

    Tuesday November 01 2011

The Duchess of Cambridge's style transformation has earned her first place in the fashion magazine's annual best-dressed list.

So what if her fashion sense was dismissed by Dame Vivienne Westwood as "ordinary": for today the Duchess of Cambridge is named Britain's best-dressed woman.

The accolade comes courtesy of Harper's Bazaar magazine, which places the Duchess top of its annual list of the nation's 20 most influentially-attired.

According to the title's panel of judges, chaired by editor Lucy Yeomans, the Duchess won first place because her "incredible style evolution has gripped us all."

Since the royal wedding in April, when she was praised by commentators for choosing Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen to design her dress, the Duchess has certainly demonstrated an increasing influence on fashion.

Many of the high-street items she wears become sell-outs, and she regularly showcases many high-end British fashion designers including as Erdem, Alice Temperley and Amanda Wakeley.
Almost as scrutinised as the Duchess in 2011 has been her younger sister and bridesmaid, Pippa Middleton. She, however, is not in Bazaar's top 20.

Those who are include the singer Florence Welch at number two ("magical but powerful" said the judges), television presenter Alexa Chung at number nine ("legs like biros - the best in town") and Samantha Cameron at number 13 ("a great fashion role model").

Other notable inclusions are Livia Firth, the wife of actor Colin Firth, who is placed 10th and praised for wearing ethically-sourced gowns on her regular red-carpet outings.

Kristin Scott Thomas is placed 18th and described as "The woman we all want to be when we grow up. Her substance, wit and intelligence are conveyed through her style."
