Benedict Cumberbatch ''Really Happy'' After Engagement: Will Martin Freeman Be His Best Man?!

Benedict Cumberbatch, Sophie Hunter

So of course, when E! News caught up with the 38-year-old thesp at the premiere of his upcoming flick The Imitation Game, hosted by Chanel, we had to ask the Sherlock stud how it feels to be the biggest heartbreaker of 2014—and no surprise, the handsome Brit was as polite and humble as ever.

"There'll be another one..." he joked of his heartbreaker status. "And I don't know that I really deserve that title. I think most people are just really happy as we are."

The actor announced his engagement in a traditional matter, opting for a paid-for announcement in The Times newspaper's classified section, which named his parents, Wanda and Timothy, as well as his fiancée's, Katharine and Charles.

Following the exciting news, fans have rallied around the star and seem genuinely excited that Cumberbatch has found his match, but according to the newly engaged celeb, the only support he needs is from his bride-to-be.

"It is," he said when asked if it's nice to have such strong support his loyal admirers. "But the only support I really need to be honest I need is the woman I love who I proposed to."

Swoon alert!

Fifth bride lucky for ladies man Sean Bean?

EXPRESS

Actor Sean Bean with current fiancée Ashley Moore

To be fair to Sean Bean, he didn’t quite use the words “Never again”.

But he came pretty close, speaking not long after his last divorce three years ago, when he told a magazine interviewer: “Of course I believe in love.

"There is nobody who doesn’t believe in love.

"But marriage – that fits some people but obviously not me.”

Instead of worrying about his love life, he added, he would rather spend his time gardening.

But this weekend it’s a fair bet the autumn leaves are piling up unswept at his Italian-style house in a cobbled mews in North London’s exclusive Belsize Park.

That’s because he has marriage on his mind once more.

The 55-year-old actor, whose profile has soared with his roles in the blockbusting film trilogy The Lord of the Rings and the small-screen fantasy series Game of Thrones, has just popped the question to his 29-year-old girlfriend Ashley Moore and she has agreed to become the fifth Mrs Bean.

While that doesn’t quite put her four-times-divorced fiancé in the same league as serial knot-tiers Elizabeth Taylor and Zsa-Zsa Gabor, he’s getting pretty close to the tally of Henry VIII (by whom, incidentally, his character was once executed in a 2003 mini-series).

Born in Sheffield, where his father owned a steel firm, Shaun (as his name was spelled in those days) was 21 when he married his school sweetheart, hairdresser Debra James, in 1981.

On paper they lasted seven years but in reality the marriage was over as soon as it started.

Having taken a drama class at Rotherham College of Art & Technology, he moved to London to take up a place at Rada shortly after they wed.

They visited each other at weekends but it fizzled very soon.

“I’m very happy for him now,” Debra has said.

“I’m delighted he found something he really wanted to do and has made a real success of it.

"We were just two kids who fell in love.

"But it never worked out.”

Rob James-Collier: 'We're all waiting for the chop' says Downton Abbey baddie

DAILY STAR

The cast of Downton Abbey

As fans gear up for the series finale tonight, the telly hunk, 38, said actors are worried about getting the chop by the writers.

But the ex-Corrie star reckons he would not be too fussed if he was shown the door.

He said: “It doesn’t bother me what happens. I’ve got no fear about moving on. Life’s too short.”

ITV producers announced a few days ago they have commissioned a sixth series of the popular drama.

Rob, who is known across the globe for playing evil Thomas Barrow, said: “Downton as a whole is greater than a sum of its parts. There’s not one person it can’t carry on without.

“We have seen that with high-profile people leaving before. There really is no one bigger than the show.”

In recent years a string of characters has been written out of Downton, which pulls in up to ten million viewers every week.

But Rob, 38, insisted he would be happy to turn his back on the drama.

He said: “If you stay in the same place too long you’re not doing different roles. I have no fear about moving on.

"If I wanted to go, I’d go. If they got rid of me from Downton I’m sure something else would happen. It may not be on the same scale but it would be a different role.
