Well, looks like the only big win was Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Still think Michelle Fairley and Sean Bean at least deserved to be nominated. Looking to the future, it will be interesting to see who the show focuses on in Season 2, now that Sean Bean won't be leading the cast. Oh, and in case you missed it, here's Dinklage's acceptance speech from last night.

Michelle Fairley deserved an Emmy Nom for her portrayal of Catelyn Stark.

Sean Bean gave an Emmy worthy performance as Ned Stark.

Thanks for your post! I am glad Dinklage won, but GoT should have won best drama as well.

Seemed to me that Emmy voters were not very original with their nominations, going for actors already known in the US, not for some of the new names in GoT.

I am very disappointed that Sean Bean was not nominated, and agree he should have won the Emmy for Best Actor.

The Emmy's generally follow fads every year. Whatever is "in" at the moment gets all the prizes and then the in following years, the show is just as good but the voters turn against it and vote for the new fad. I don't think the judging has much to do on actual merit sometimes.
