BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Brunswick County Commissioners will decide tonight if they will allow the Vertebra Film Company to shoot a film at the former Brunswick Community Hospital. The company would use the sight location from October 5 through 15 for about 15 hours each day. If an agreement is reached, the film company would pay Brunswick County $2,000 per shooting day.
The title of the film is not known at this time, but the Vertebra Newman Film Company is listed as the producers of the recently announced Arthur Newman, Golf Pro, which stars Academy Award winner Colin Firth and Emily Blount.
Multiple film and television production companies have contacted the county about the possibility of using the hospital facility. County staff is hoping to speed up the process by having the Board of Commissioners authorize similar agreements without formal board approval.
