Whether the Queen liked The Queen – or whether she even saw the film – I can’t say. Still, there are fans at Buckingham Palace of The King’s Speech, with Helena Bonham Carter as the late Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
Tom Hooper, its director, and Mark Logue, the grandson of speech therapist Lionel Logue, were invited to give a talk to the Royal Household Football, Sports and Social Club. “I think it would have pleased my grandfather to have a Logue back at the palace,” Logue tells me.
