LUKE EVANS - 'NO ONE LIVES', 'THE HOBBIT'

ACTRESS AMERICA OLIVO ('SPIDERMAN' ON BROADWAY) TALKS ABOUT WORKING WITH LUKE EVANS IN 'NO ONE LIVES'

In a Webpaint Entertainment interview America Olivo shares her experience working with Luke Evans in 'No One Lives'.

You’re also in the upcoming horror flick No One Lives with The Hobbit’s Luke Evans. How intense was that?

It’s quite the opposite of Conception. I had put myself on tape for this director [Ryûhei Kitamura] because I knew what he was doing and I’m a fan of his. His work is so beautifully… not graphic, beautifully disgusting. He is one of the most creative directors visually that you could imagine. He speaks in that very graphic novel style. He speaks otherworldly. He’s a perfectionist without stopping the show. He really knows what he wants, and he will get it, but he doesn’t stop the creative process of the actors. And being able to work with Luke Evans who is just blowing up… He was like a kid in a candy store. This was his first horror film. We were filming in New Orleans and he was so excited. Literally every day he would come to the set and say, “This is so fantastic. I love this, I love this whole journey.” And, of course, Ryûhei came up with a million and one ways I’ve never even thought of for how to kill people.

Did Luke tell you anything about The Hobbit?

Only that he was really freaking excited to do it and that he was basically leaving the day after we wrapped to go to New Zealand to go do it. We all got the news that he was doing Hobbit while we were on set, so we celebrated then. I just remember looking at him like, “I don’t think you have any idea of what’s coming.” You know when it’s happening to you, you might not be able to see how much your life is changing. But I’m looking at him going, “Oh, my God. Your life is really changing, like, right now.” This is so cool to watch because it couldn’t have happened to a better person.
