Star sightings in Raleigh Wednesday?

It'll be lights, camera, and action in downtown Raleigh Wednesday.

The new movie "Arthur Newman, Golf Pro" starring Academy Award winner Colin Firth and Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt is scheduled to shoot some scenes downtown.
That means the following streets will be closed on Wednesday, November 9 from 5:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Streets:
  • The 200 block Fayetteville Street and the Market Plaza will be closed from 5:00 am until 5:00 pm.
  • The 200 block of West Martin will be closed from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm.
Parking:
  • All parking spaces on the 200 block of Fayetteville Street from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm.
  • All parking spaces on the north side of the 00 block of West Martin Street between Salisbury and Wilmington Street from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm
  • Parking spaces 311 through 315 on the east side of the 200 block of South Salisbury Street from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm
  • Parking spaces 119,120,121, and 122 as well as the loading zone adjacent to Market Plaza on the west side of the 200 block of South Wilmington Street from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm.
  • All parking spaces on the 200 block of West Martin Street from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm.
In addition to the street closures above, the 200 block of South McDowell Street will be closed intermittently for short periods of time from approximately 12:00 pm until approximately 5:00 pm. The film crew will also be utilizing Nash Square.

The Fayetteville Observer (http://bit.ly/uHoTzH ) reports that the movie filmed in the town of Fairmont Tuesday.

The movie is about a man who fakes his death and assumes a new identity as a golf pro.
Firth was last in North Carolina in 2009 to film a movie in Durham with Orlando Bloom, Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson and Amber Tamblyn - to name a few.
