They are coming. Not poltergeists, but Man of Steel action figures in the likeness of Henry Cavill. Cavill who plays Superman in the 2013 reboot Man of Steel, commented to LA Times Hero Complex about his experience learning he would become a household action figure for the movie.

Just last week, Warner Bros Consumer Products (WBCP) announced they had extended their relationship with Mattel for the creation of what they referred to as "toys" for the DC Universe. Included in that deal is full access to the vault of DC's superheroes and super villains, as well as characters from the movie franchises (including future movies) for The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel, Green Lantern et cetera.

Says Cavill of the experience:

I met the guy who is making the action figures the other day, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience, but I was absolutely stunned by the whole experience, too [...] I was shaking hands with a guy who is making a toy out of me. I don’t think there’s any shame in being really excited about it. It’s mega-weird, but as long as you don’t get too wrapped up in it, it’s great. And you know, I don’t want it to end.

Included in the merchandising deal could be the other "supers" of Man of Steel: General Zod and Faora. Fans can look forward to having actions figures in the likeness of Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, and possibly Russell Crowe (Jor-El) and Ayelet Zurer (Lara Lor-Van.) Perhaps even key human characters could make its way into the toy line-up.

Considering the early buzz on this film project and fanfare from both genders, it could be construed highly likely the audience as whole will enjoy the action figures in the likness of Henry Cavill- just for very different reasons.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14, 2013 and stars Henry Cavill as Superman/ Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Pa Kent, Diane Lane as Ma Kent, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, and Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy.
