THE DO It doesn’t matter how many boards you’ve trodden, darling, there’s nothing like the Old Vic’s 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala to test the nerves. The annual event sees a stellar line-up of writers and thesps create, rehearse and perform a programme of plays in 24 hours. This year’s star turns came from Sanjeev Bhaskar, Downton’s Brendan Coyle, and model Lily Cole who took part in a ten-minute musical without dropping a note. ‘If I’d thought about it logically I’d have frozen, so I rolled with it,’ she told us later. No plans for an alternative career? ‘I love singing…but I don’t know!
