SOMEONE who could benefit from dance lessons is Dan Stevens, 29, who plays Matthew Crawley, the heir to Downton Abbey in the ITV costume drama.
The actor proved to have two left feet when filming the servants’ ball for Downton’s Christmas Day special. Actress Lesley Nicol, 58, who stars as head cook Mrs Patmore, needed first aid after taking to the floor with him.
“Dan kicked me in the leg, not on purpose but it put me out with an ice pack for a good 10 minutes,” says Lesley. Despite the minor injury Lesley believes her character would have loved the experience.
“I imagined it would be like dancing with Prince Charming for her. He would have been the most handsome piece of eye candy you could dance with so I did rather enjoy it!”
