The stars of Downton Abbey, including Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens, headed to a sneak peek screening of the eagerly-anticipated Christmas special

While many of us are looking forward to the Downton Abbey Christmas special almost as much as Christmas itself, the cast were lucky enough to catch a sneak peek preview of the episode in a private screening in London. Jealous, us?

On-screen sisters Michelle Dockery and Laura Carmichael joined Hugh Bonneville and Dan Stevens on the red carpet for a night to toast TV’s favourite period drama with its creator Julian Fellowes.

And while ITV are keeping quiet about the plot of the special episode, if past shows are anything to go by we can expect tears, trials and tension - not to mention the Dowager-Countess' (Dame Maggie Smith) witty one-liners.

We’ll be tuning in come Christmas day!
