Tatum broods as McGregor takes aim

Keen to see Ewan McGregor pointing a gun? An aficionado of silhoueted government types? Then you’re gonna to love the new batch of images that have arrived in advance of the January release of action thriller Haywire.
Aside from Ewan’s heat-packing, we also get a look at a moody Channing Tatum, a smiley Gina Carano and, er, a less smiley Gina Carano. We prefer the latter to be honest… the scowl suits her nicely.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Haywire stars Carano as an elite Black Ops soldier who goes on the run when her superiors try to put one over on her. Yes, it does sound rather a lot like Bourne, doesn’t it?
Still, that’s not to say Soderbergh won’t be able to put his own spin on the well-worn avenging agent yarn, and the supporting cast (which also includes Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton and Antonio Banderas) is a big draw in its own right.
Haywire arrives in UK screens on 18 January 2012.
