Russell Crowe Tweets "Man of Steel" Exercise Regiment (Superman Supersite)




Russell crowe has posted quite a few tweets about his exercise regime to get into shape for the role of Superman's biological father, Jor-El in "Man of Steel".


According to BreakingNews.ie, the 47-year-old Oscar-winning actor has been hitting the gym and taking long bike rides, runs & walks so he is in the best shape possible for the part.

In a recent post on his Twitter page, Crowe tweeted, "Yesterday 1 hr walk 1 hr gym, today pitiful bike ride but it is a very special day and i've got other things I need to do. go hard tomorrow.

"31.37 km bike ride. Bike 28.6 km, gym 1 hr. 2 walks, total time 1 hr 45 mins."

Crowe's weight has fluctuated drastically over the years but his tough new exercise and diet regime, which involved following a gluten-free eating plan and a punishing fitness schedule, has resulted in a loss 16 lbs.

"220 lbs this morning, started at 236.4 lbs. 45 min walk, 12 mins eliptical, weighted objects 40 mins, walk 25 mins. 2400 cal a day maximum, all meals & all beverages. Where possible gluten-free," said Crowe in another recent tweet.

"Day 12 of a 105 day training period, there is a long way to go, one layer of tissue paper per day of effort and diet ... it takes a long time (sic)."

Alongside Crowe as Jor-El, "Man of Steel" also stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Jonathon 'Pa' Kent, Diane Lane as Martha 'Ma' Kent, Michael Shannon as Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Sam Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Superman is scheduled to make his return to the silver screen on Friday, June 14, 2013.
