Hugh Grant, David Tennant in Ultimate Pub Quiz

Celebrities in quiz fundraiser

Hugh Grant, Jonathan Ross and David Tennant were amongst the famous faces putting their grey-matter to the test at a pub quiz to raise money for a charity for homeless young people in London.

Under the watchful eye of quiz master Fern Britton, celebrities including Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis and DJ Sara Cox pitted their wits against teams of workers from London businesses at The Ultimate Pub Quiz organised by Centrepoint.

The light-hearted contest, now in its third year, was held at the Paramount Club in Soho's Centre Point Tower for the first time.

As well as the three rounds of questions, Fern presided over a celebrity auction offering teams the chance to buy the assistance of Grant, Ross, Tennant or Hollyoaks actress and Dancing on Ice star, Jorgie Porter, for the showbiz section of the quiz.

Although world-leading financial services provider and Centrepoint charity partner, Credit Suisse, purchased Ross at auction, he could not secure them victory. A team from law firm Herbert Smith took home the winner's trophy a limited edition silver stag from luxury furniture designers Graham & Greene.

The Ultimate Pub Quiz has previously raised £50,000 each year for Centrepoint, which is dedicated to ending youth homelessness.
