The Hobbit pub's licensing fee to be paid by Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen (TOLKIEN EXAMINER)

As a heartwarming resolution to The Hobbit licensing legal drama last week, actors Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen have announced that they'll be funding the annual $100 require for the Southampton The Hobbit pub to retain its name and Tolkien theme.

This was announced through the pub's Twitter feed, which also simply said: We are a happy pub.
