Benedict Cumberbatch: It’s great working with Benedict Cumberbatch on Star Trek ...but he boasts about being voted Sun’s sexiest man — Simon Pegg jokes (THE SUN)



Star Trek Director JJ Abrams picked three other Brits — Alice Eve, Noel Clarke and Benedict Cumberbatch — for the new Star Trek film, which opens next year.

Simon said: “We had a whole little British corner, which JJ used to joke about us taking over.”

He had a lot of fun working with Sherlock actor Benedict, who readers voted the sexiest man in a Sun poll.

Simon revealed: “Oh, he told me he had won all right.

“We went out one night and he said ‘You’ll never guess what, I am The Sun’s sexiest man’. And I was like, ‘That’s amazing. That is so cool’.”


“Benedict is such a good guy, he’s a really sweet person and I love that he’s getting this success because he’s also a great actor. I worked a lot with him on Star Trek. He is part of the threat in the film.”

Despite the fact that Brits are taking over Hollywood, and even though his daughter Matilda has a United States passport, having been born there, Simon still intends to keep the family home here.

In between massive blockbusters he continues to make small British movie
