Hugh Bonneville: Twenty Twelve's Olympic chaos continued in a timely manner (METRO.CO)



Given the furore which erupted in the press this past week over the apparent fiasco involving Olympics security, the latest episode of Twenty Twelve couldn't have come at a better time - kicking off with the aftermath of Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville)'s unfortunate encounter with a starter pistol and the notion that it was a security test that went wrong.

As Fletcher languished in hospital with his bullet-riddled foot in bandages, all manner of chaos swirled around him - from the news that his PA was leaving (albeit not without bringing him a totally irrelevant gift in hospital), through to the arrival of an unexpected replacement.

Meanwhile back at the office the team panicked over Inclusivity Day and Diversity Day, trotting out ridiculous proclamations with the usual razor-sharp accuracy ('We're looking at a runway of three days on this, if we don't get airborne fast we are so eating tarmac') and deadpan wit.
