The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that Cumberbatch has signed on to join the cast that already includes Oscar-winners Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts and producer George Clooney for the film based on Tulsa native Tracy Letts' award-winning play.
The 36-year-old Englishman will play "Little" Charles Aiken, one of the many members of the dysfunctional Weston family who gather at the ancestral Pawhuska-area home.
Cumberbatch has become one of Hollywood's hottest actors since his debut as the modern Sherlock Holmes, with "Sherlock" airing on PBS.
