Maggie Smith, Kate Winslet, Kenneth Branagh, Tilda Swinton all up for SAG awards - not in the same category however (Sky.com)

Dame Maggie Smith is a contender for Best Actress in TV movie or mini-series

 
Dame Maggie Smith, Kate Winslet and Emily Watson will go head-to-head at tonight's Screen Actors Guild awards.


The three actresses are all competing in the Best Actress in a TV Movie/Mini-series category - Dame Maggie for her role as the Dowager Countess in Downton Abbey, Watson for Appropriate Adult, and Winslet for Mildred Pierce.

Tilda Swinton and Kennth Branagh are also representing Britain at the awards in Los Angeles tonight, where actors honour each others' work.

Branagh has been given the nod in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in My Week With Marilyn, while Swinton is competing for the Best Actress award after her performance in We Need To Talk About Kevin.
