Colin Farrell - Lovely mobile phone pic of him holding a sick child.

Facebook page of   Ireland and Peg's Cottage

This photo is of Colin Farrell, taken on a mobile phone by the parent of a sick child in Our Lady's Hospital in Ireland on Christmas Day. He arrived unannounced (not even his publicist knew of his plans) with hundred of gifts to spend time with the sick children. No TV ... no media ... reminded me of this poem:-

IRISH HE IS
A strange blend of shyness, of pride and conceit,
And stubborn refusal to bow in defeat
He’s spoiling and ready to argue and fight,
Yet the smile of a child fills his soul with delight.
His eyes are the quickest to well up in tears,
Yet his strength is the strongest to banish your fears.
His hate is as fierce as his devotion is grand,
And there is no middle ground on which he will stand.
He’s wild and he’s gentle, he’s good and he’s bad.
He’s proud and he’s humble, he’s happy and sad.
He’s in love with the ocean, the earth and the skies,
He’s enamoured with beauty wherever it lies.
He’s victor and victim, a star and a clod,
But mostly he’s Irish... in love with his God.

Thats the way it should be done....too many use this kind of act as selfish promotional oportunities. Good on you Mr. Farrell for making it about the sick children and not about you. You are a true gentleman.

Well said. It brought tears to my eyes after all the heavy publicity that is pushed for some of these people, such a selfless act is a breath of fresh air.

Colin Farrell did visit the Children's Hospital again this year, however, the photo of him with the baby is from his 2011 visit. ~mary ColinFarrellFansite.com
