Luke Evans talks The Hobbit Exclusive: The Welsh actor on playing Bard the Bowman May 12th 2012By Total Film

Total Film recently caught up with Luke Evans to chat about The Raven, and talk swiftly turned to The Hobbit.

Evans is possibly best known in these parts for roles in Tamara Drewe, Immortals and The Three Musketeers, but he’s about to go stellar with The Lord Of The Rings’ prequels and Fast And Furious 6.

Are you tinkering around with the character of Bard the Bowman?

“There’s slightly more Bard in the movie than is in the novel. Everything in the book is definitely in the film but… [whispers] I’ll have my tongue cut out if I say anything else. Let’s put it this way – I shoot a lot of arrows…”

Luke Evans: Luke Evans To Join Fast Six As A Villain May 10, 2012 by Jez Sands (ON THE BOX)

Following rumours last week that he was thinking about taking a role in Fast Six, things have progressed rather rapidly and he’s now in negotiations to play the big bad.

No details at the moment but it’ll see the returning cast of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jordan Brewster teaming up once again to pull off a daring heist. You would have thought that by now, their names and descriptions would have been circulated to every law enforcement agency the world over. Anyway, this time they’ll have some competition from another group of thieves and Luke Evans will be the man leading them.
And of course The Rock will be in hot pursuit and Gina Carano will be tagging along for the ride.

From Immortals to The Raven to The Hobbit to Fast Six? It's looking like that sort of year for Luke Evans. The Welsh born actor was already having the sort of year that most can only hope for and it may have just gotten better with word that the villain role in Justin Lin's Fast Six - the role that had previously been earmarked for Jason Statham - has just been offered to Evans instead. Going from one UK actor to another will only further spark speculation that the increasingly global franchise is headed to Europe - if not the UK itself - next.
