It looks like Klaxons rocker James Righton might be in luck for some risqué correspondence the next time his girlfriend is away filming.

Despite being achingly cool and effortlessly beautiful, Keira Knightley has revealed she didn't know what 'sexting' is - until now.

During an interview with Marie Claire, the British actress was quizzed over whether infidelity counts if it's conducted over text messaging.

The 26-year-old was discussing her latest film Last Night, which tells the tale of a married woman who considers having an affair with an ex-lover.

Keira mused over whether an emotional or physical betrayal was worse, saying: 'I really thought women would find emotional betrayal worse and men would consider a physical betrayal worse.

But the number of guys I asked said it was the other way round. For them, to love another woman emotionally and not be physical was much worse.

'I didn’t think men were capable of emotional betrayal.'

The interviewer then asked if 'sexting' constitutes cheating, to which the baffled Bafta-winner replied: 'I’m sorry. What about what? What is that?'

After the definition was explained, she confessed she had never heard of the term before, adding: 'Oh my God. I don’t have an answer for that. I didn’t even know what it was.'

The Teddington-born star also spoke about her fashion choices, coining her style as 'boyish chic'.

Keira said: 'I’ve definitely got a bit of the boyish in me. Growing up I was a tomboy. I didn’t wear skirts until I was 14. I hated them. I love a man’s shirt.'

The Atonement actress also recalled her first ever designer outfit, confessing it didn't quite fit in all the right places.

'It was a Miu Miu dress. Do you remember that white Marilyn Monroe dress that billowed up over the subway?

'It reminded me of that, but in black. It never quite fit - too big on the top.

'It requires t*** that I don’t have, but I still love it. I bought it ten years ago, but it’s actually in style now. I love it when it all comes back around.'

Keira ventured to Venice over the weekend to promote her latest project A Dangerous Method at the 68th annual Film Festival.

Cinema-goers will see her play a sex-starved psychiatric patient, who was the first person that the Freudian method of psychoanalysis was used.
