BRITAIN'S latest weapon against the Taliban has been unveiled — as Superman's brother.

Royal Marine Nick Cavill is fighting in Afghanistan while younger brother Henry is set to play the Man of Steel in an upcoming Hollywood blockbuster.

Major Cavill, 36, of 45 Commando Royal Marines, is nearing the end of a gruelling six-month tour. But his actor sibling has been bulking up to pull on the famous blue and red outfit of Clark Kent's alter ego.

One Royal Marine serving alongside Nick with X Company in Helmand said yesterday: "We heard the rumour before we deployed. Then one lad got sent a care package with a mag which had a story on his brother and his role.

"We couldn't believe it — he's the Helmand Superman. It's brilliant."

Another Marine, aged 23, added: "Every time Major Cavill gives us a briefing we ask him, 'Is it a bird or is it a plane?'

"We ask him if he has Superman on call if things don't go to plan out here."

Jersey-born Henry is best known for his role in historical drama The Tudors.

Man of Steel has a £100million budget and is directed by Dawn of the Dead's Zack Snyder. It is set to hit screens in summer 2013. Henry, 28, said of his role: "I'm training 2½ hours a day, putting on a lot of muscle, making myself look like Superman."

Major Cavill, of Arbroath, Scotland, and an MoD spokesman declined to comment. But a defence source said: "All our servicemen and women out in Afghanistan are superheroes."

Mr. Cavill, with all do respect to your younger brother Henry, kudos to you sir.
I know first hand the life of a military family can be a difficult one, but I also know that after being a military wife to a US Air Force man for over 20yrs the rewards you get by the show of appreciation.
Thank you Mr. Cavill for your straight and your honor and your time in service. I may not be British, but I am a human being and will recognize where credit should be forced.
With that said, many thank you to you and to your family whom have travel this path with you.
Sincerely
Jessie Dean
