Colin Firth To Shoot Movie Scenes in Alamance Co., North Carolina

Oscar winner Colin Firth will shoot part of his next movie in Alamance County.

The North Carolina Piedmont Triad Film Commission made the announcement on Friday. The dark comedy, currently titled "Arthur Newman: Golf Pro," will spend several days shooting somewhere in the county soon.

The film also will star Emily Blunt, who was in "The Devil Wears Prada."

Film commission officials did not specify where the scenes would be shot but said other scenes will be shot in Wilmington and the Triangle.

"None of these film companies get any money upfront. They get money after they already spent a whole lot of money here in the region. They get a percentage back," said Rebecca Clark with the film commission.
