The return of Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) award Emmy award-winning show is still a few months away from returning to Masterpiece classic. Luckily PBS has released new interviews, a trailer and I have been sent some great behind the scenes footage to help tide us over until January 8.

Season two sees the return of the Crawley family and their servants. Since season 1 their lives have been changed forever, with the declaration of the Great War. Many of the first series favorites, Hugh Boneville Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith & Hugh Stevens will be joined by a host of new faces, including; Zoe Boyle, who will play Miss Lavinia Swire, Iain Glen as Sir Richard Carlisle, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Vera Bates (wife of John Bates), Amy Nuttall as new Housemaid Ethel and Cal Macaninch joins as Lang, a new Valet.

PBS has a number of new videos since our last post, plus we have a great behind the scenes look at how the battle scenes were filmed as well as a video from The British TV show Countryside as it takes a look at the other star of the hit series, Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey is filmed.
The PBS videos include a series two preview, an exclusive cast Interview that sees them talk about the first season’s success, and look ahead to season 2, Masterpiece Executive Rebecca Eaton discusses why Americans connect with Downton Abbey, stars Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley) and Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) discuss the script by Julian Fellowes and Siobhan Finneran and Elizabeth McGovern talk about characters in the series.

That should keep you going for a while, but if that still is not enough take a look at some other posts from our extensive Downton Abbey coverage.
