The American Film Institute has released its complete schedule including Centerpiece Galas and Special Screenings for AFI FEST 2011.
The highlight of the festival is expected to be the world premiere of Clint Eastwood’s “J. Edgar”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, which will launch the event. The Centerpiece Galas include Luc Besson’s “The Lady,” “My Week With Marilyn” starring Michelle Williams, “The Artist,” “Carnage” and Steve McQueen’s “Shame.”
This year’s Guest Artistic Director is Pedro Almodovar who will be on hand to present a 25th anniversary screening of “Law of Desire,” the first film made by his production company, El Deseo.
Among the 11 Special Screenings are Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia,” “Pina,” “We Need to Talk About Kevin”, and “Butter” starring Jennifer Garner.
AFI FEST 2011 will take place in Hollywood from November 3-10.
