Clive Owen dedicates his UNESCO award to Gisimba

Gisimba Memorial Centre Kigali, Rwanda

On Saturday, November 19th in an incredible gesture Clive Owen dedicated his UNESCO award to Damas and Jean-Francois Gisimba. They received an ovation from the audience (1400-strong) in Dusseldorf. It was a moving and inspiring moment—more information on the event and the speech can be found here.

As an Ambassador for Aegis Trust, Clive visited Rwanda in 2010. During that trip he had the opportunity to visit Gisimba and was deeply moved by the commitment of the Gisimba Family, their story and the work we with the children in our care.

We would like to express our deepest thanks to both Clive and Aegis Trust for their support and friendship. This dedication is generous and so very much appreciated—the awareness will certainly help in garnering support for the opportunities ahead and challenges we face. Without our friends we are not able to do the important work we do helping children.
