Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (Colin Firth, Gary Oldman) (SkyMovies top 20 movies of 2011)

"There's a mole, right at the top of the Circus. And he's been there for years."

Outrage ensued when Tinker Tailor failed to receive a single Golden Globe nomination, despite Gary Oldman being lauded as a shoe-in for an Oscar nod when the film was released in September.

Tomas Alfredson's reworking of John Le Carre's Cold War espionage thriller (and of the much-loved BBC version starring Alec Guinness) is as methodical and difficult to read as George Smiley himself, but it's definitely worth the effort.

Also featuring a stellar British cast that includes Colin Firth, Toby Jones, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Hurt and Ciaran Hinds.
