Dan Stevens Invites Us To 'Downton Abbey' As This Week's Hump Day Hottie (MTV Hollywood Crush)

Posted 5 hrs ago by Jocelyn Vena in Eye Candy

For our first Hump Day Hottie of 2012, we decided to go high-brow and name Dan Stevens our good-looking lad of the week. Why, you might be wondering? Well, simply because "Downton Abbey"—and all its early 20th century, upper-class drama—is the best kind of high-brow around. The show’s second season (stateside, at least) kicks off on Sunday, so let’s take a moment to address Dan’s dreaminess.

Check out this dreamy photo of Dan and keep reading for more details about him!

Vital stats: The 29-year-old actor grew up in England (Croydon, South London, to be exact). He got a lot of experience as an actor on the stage (an English tradition if there ever was one!) and in National Youth Theatre. And, sorry everyone, this hottie is married with a daughter.

Where you might have already seen him: In his homeland he’s best known for his work on the stage, as well as TV mini-series like “The Line of Beauty,” “Sense and Sensibility” and, of course, “Downton Abbey,” to name just a few.

Why you should take notice of him now: He stars as middle-class-lawyer-turned-upper-class-heir Matthew Crawley. With so much on the line during this season of the addictive period drama (think of it as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” meets “The O.C.” meets “Titanic”), fans of the soapy PBS series are certainly trying to keep up with all the upstairs/downstairs drama.

Next up, Dan is slated to star in Amy Heckerling’s tongue-in-cheek vampire comedy, “Vamps,” alongside Cher Horowitz Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter. That’s something we can sink our teeth into for sure.

Until next week, when we choose another Hump Day Hottie, you can salute Dan by gawking at the image above!
