'Downton Abbey' Season 3 [SPOILERS, TRAILER] Finale: Future Of Thomas Jeopardized? By Bobby Pollier, (ENSTARZ)


The PBS British-American period drama "Downton Abbey" has continued to garner the attention of millions of viewers worldwide. Nearing the end of its third season, the show has recently released information on its finale. According to ITV, the latest details on the upcoming 90-minute Christmas episode state the following: "There is excitement in the house and village as the annual cricket match approaches, and it brings out Robert's competitive side. As Violet's great niece Rose arrives, a trip to London reveals there is more to her than meets the eye. Thomas's future is in Carson's hands, but Bates may be an unlikely ally. What secrets are Mary and Matthew holding back from each other?"




Actor Hugh Bonneville, who plays the role of Robert Crawley, had previously spoken to TV Line regarding his take on the "Downton Abbey" finale.

"It goes out to Christmas, but it's not set at Christmas. It has a very different flavor [and] lots of thrills and spills along the way."

Along those same lines of praise, Brendan Coyle (John Bates) had also added his take on season three's highly-anticipated installment.

"It's a very, very romantic and deeply heartbreaking. It's very Downton."
