Henry Cavill Talks About Fame's Effect on His Relationships

Just Jared
October 12, 2017

Henry Cavill is opening up about how fame and having devoted fans has affected his relationships.

The 34-year-old Justice League actor, who is currently dating stuntwoman Lucy Cork, told The Rake that he loves his fan-base, but he doesn’t appreciate when they claim ownership over his life. “There is obviously a flip-side to [fame], too: as soon as I get into a relationship, a slew of hate, directed at me as well as the girl, saying that ‘I’ve changed,’” Henry said.

“I haven’t changed a bit. But you have to take all of that in your stride, there are positive and negative parts to all of it, but ultimately it is enormously flattering to have people care that much. As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone in my life, it is a good thing. As soon as it starts to affect people in my life, that’s when I draw back.”

Henry Cavill Gushes About His Favorite Traveling Companion — His Dog

US
By Ali Booth

Even Superman needs a sidekick! Henry Cavill, who plays Clark Kent in DC’s two most recent film adaptations of the classic comic, as well as the upcoming Justice League, took to Instagram on Monday, April 3, to share a post in honor of his lovable dog, Kal.

“These past few days have been very busy with travel to new destinations for my next job. What seemed like an impossible task was made into less of a mission by my constant companion,” he captioned the collage of photos of Kal, which he hashtagged, “#TheTravelingBear.”

Henry Cavill: How Superhero Movies Are Saving Hollywood

TIME MAGAZINE
Eric Dodds @doddsef  12:37 PM ET

"Man Of Steel" World Premiere - Outside Arrivals

It’s hard to believe that not long ago, the movie industry wasn’t completely dominated by superhero franchises. Big-budget blockbusters have always received the most attention and the largest audiences, but as recently as 10 or 15 years ago, the form wasn’t a sea of mutants and masked crime-fighters. These days, it seems like studios think they need a superhero franchise just to keep up with the competition (when Sony rebooted Spider-Man in 2012, many believed they did so to avoid losing the rights to the character). Warner Bros. did little to dispel that notion on Sunday night, confirming that a Justice League film had been greenlit for a likely release in either 2017 or 2018.

The movie, which would be the second sequel to last summer’s Man of Steel (the tentatively titled Superman vs. Batman is slated for 2016), will feature Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and, undoubtedly, countless others (Matt Damon?!). It’s merely the latest development in the ongoing arms race between Warner, Marvel (The Avengers), Sony (Spider-Man) and Fox (X-Men). After the enormous success of The Avengers in 2012, it became apparent that one titular superhero wouldn’t be sufficient for record-breaking box office draws — and studios were likely further emboldened by the warm critical reception that Joss Whedon’s star-studded film received.

Henry Cavill: I Hope 'Justice League' Doesn't Happen Right Away!

Henry recently talked about the upcoming film Justice League.

“Justice League could be great if done correctly. It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world universe, real-world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that. It has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away. I hope it’s not, anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another,” Henry told Variety.

Christian Bale 'will not be in Justice League movie' Published Sunday, Jun 16 2013, 11:52am EDT | By Zeba Blay (DIGITAL SPY)

The Dark Knight Rises

Christian Bale will most likely not appear in a potential Justice League movie, according to writer David S Goyer.

Goyer, co-writer of The Dark Knight and writer of this year's Man of Steel, revealed his thoughts on a possible cinematic DC universe to Hey Guys and Den of Geek.

He said that Batman does exist in the Man of Steel universe, but "it would be a different Bruce Wayne from the Dark Knight trilogy".

Goyer added that while the popularity of Marvel's Avengers has made execs at Warner Bros. seriously consider a Justice League film, such a project would depend on the success of Man of Steel.

"Warner Bros. has hopes that there will be more Man of Steel films, and that this will be the beginning of a shared universe," he explained.

"We could meet Batman, or Wonder Woman, or the Justice League in these movies. But they all hinge on box office reception."

Henry Cavill Talks Justice League (CRAVE ON LINE)

Man of Steel

Man of Steel himself Henry Cavill offers some thoughts on those much discussed, but not very official sounding plans for a Justice League movie.

May 31st, 2013 Jason Kobely

Today was the press conference for Man of Steel. After 45 minutes of hearing Henry Cavill, his costars and filmmakers discuss the long-awaited Superman movie, I approached Cavill as the press conference broke to ask about the next stage for Superman. Before trailers were even out for Man of Steel, reports had Warner Brothers planning a Justice League movie based on this Superman.

Cavill said he was open to reprising the role of Kal-El in not just another Superman movie, but in the DC team-up prospect too.

“Of course I’m open to it, very much open to it, but I have no idea what plans are for that,” Cavill said. “I’m not privy to that kind of information. I think it would be a lot of fun to explore the character further and a continuing journey, but I know nothing about those plans so far.”

Reports of a Justice League plan may be exaggerated. Certainly, news broke that Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer were tapped to produce it, and then that was taken back. Cavill could only confirm that Justice League thoughts popped up on the Man of Steel set.

Tom Hardy cast as Green Lantern for Justice League movie (fan share)

There was a bit of a debate going on recently, about whether or not Ryan Reynolds should return as the Green Lantern for the Justice League movie, following the flop that was the Green Lantern standalone movie. Some claimed that Ryan should get another shot at it, while others believed that a new star should be cast.

It has been revealed that Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy has been cast in the role of Green Lantern for the Justice League movie. It is believed that the character's alter ego will once again be Hal Jordan but Tom Hardy is expected to bring a much different spin on the character.

That means that we will once again see Henry Cavill as Superman, while Eddie Redmayne will play Batman, Meghan Markle will play Wonder Woman and Ryan Gosling will play The Flash. The only character left to cast for the Justice League movie is Aquaman and we will bring you that as we get it.

Henry Cavill, Christian Bale: Christian Bale To Return As Batman Alongside Henry Cavill's Superman In Justice League Film? (E.)

Christian Bale could be set to return as Batman in DC comics’ Justice League movie, according to a report.

The deal which could make it happen is an alleged move by Warner Bros to give Batman trilogy director Christopher Nolan complete control over the comics’ universe, which sees its next instalment with Henry Cavill’s turn as Superman in Man of Steel.

The Superman reboot will be directed by Zak Snyder, but Nolan will executive produce, and the Latino Review, a site with a decent record of scoops on superhero and sci-fi movies, last month breaking the news that Harrison Ford was set to return to Star Wars.

The website claims that the Justice League movie has “gone into lockdown”, with Warner Bros pulling out all the stops to ensure that it is a success.

Henry Cavill: The Outsourced Superhero (DETAILS)

Superman-in-waiting Henry Cavill stands for truth, justice, and the not-actually-American way.

In the age of globalization, the Justice League looks more and more like the League of Nations. Consider: Today, Batman and Spider-Man are British; Thor and Wolverine are Australian; Green Hornet, Arrow, and Lantern are Canadian. The latest, and most conspicuous, to join the ranks of outsourced superheroes is Henry Cavill, the 29-year-old star of next summer's Zack Snyder–directed Superman opus, Man of Steel—the quintessential American icon, now portrayed by a native of England's quaint Channel Island of Jersey. Smallville it ain't.

"I suppose it's a fluke," says Cavill, who lives in London. "It's about who looks right for the character and for the generation it's being cast for. If you only look at the American market, you're narrowing down your options an awful lot. The point of acting is to pretend you're someone else and sell a story. Chris Hemsworth is an Australian man, not a god from Asgaard. It would be even more fluke-y if every person who was playing a superhero was American."

Henry Cavill Pretty Much Confirmed For JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie November 26, 2012 By Steve Lemlek (JTF)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gz0kTPmIOI

Three cheers for continuity! MAN OF STEEL director Zack Snyder recently sat down for a brief discussion about his upcoming Superman flick, and the much beloved (and equally despised) adapter of comic books revealed that his version of the Big Blue Boyscout will appear in the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.

Admittedly, he was a bit coy about the whole matter, but he said about as much as we need to confirm that Henry Cavill PROBABLY will star in JL.

Here’s what the Watchmen director (and creator of that steamy, kinda creapy Night Owl sex scene) had to say about bringing a DC cinematic universe to the big screen…

“I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course.”

OK. We can pretty much tell that Snyder is in the process of sculpting a world fit for Supes, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the heroes to coexist. That, in itself, doesn’t directly lend itself to Cavill’s reprisal of the cape in JL, but this next part does. When asked about any possible connections between Man of Steel and JL, Snyder said…

Henry Cavill: Zack Snyder Won't Talk About Man of Steel Sequel by Spencer Perry October 29, 2012 (SUPER HERO HYPE)

It's no secret that everyone involved in the production of next summer's Man of Steel is not saying much about the movie. We've gotten a handful of quotes about the movie, but nothing that goes into extensive detail. Another thing we don't know is whether star Henry Cavill will be portraying the character in the proposed Justice League film, but are there already plans for a Man of Steel sequel?

In an interview with E!, director Zack Snyder danced around the question: "We like to take it one step at a time and not curse anything. It's that kind of thing so we'll see what happens."

Time will tell, but with a tentpole film like this, there's no doubt that WB is mulling over its future prospects.

Henry Cavill: Justice League Film: Casting Earth’s Protectors October 23, 2012 (WHAT CULTURE)

The Justice League film is slated for a summer 2015 release. With the Man of Steel hitting theaters in the summer of 2013, DC fans will be introduced to a rebooted Superman, who will headline the League. Additionally, the new Superman movie will open up the new shared DC cinematic universe. As has been reported, a script is already in the works and a director is being searched for. That leaves the cast.

Henry Cavill, who in my opinion will do Superman justice, has already been cast as Superman obviously. Also, it has been revealed that the Justice League movie will be the introduction of the rest of the team. Following the JL film, each other hero will receive their own solo film. I feel that Warner Bros. has correctly cast Superman. With a great choice there, you have to follow up with great casting through every other team member.
