First-Ever Your Film Fest Winner Is David Victori For ‘The Guilt’ (DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD)

VENICE, ITALY (2 September 2012): YouTube and Emirates, in partnership with the Venice Film Festival and Scott Free Productions, announced today the first ever winner of Your Film Festival – an online competition to find the world’s best storytellers.  Spanish filmmaker David Victori was chosen for his short film submission, “The Guilt,” as the grand prize winner and will receive $500,000 to create original online content for YouTube with Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender acting as executive producers.

Michael Fassbender & Ridley Scott To Give Wannabe Directors A Big Break At Venice (CONTACT MUSIC)

Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender and filmmaker Ridley Scott have teamed up to give a budding director his big break as part of a new Internet competition. The two stars will judge YouTube.com's Your Film Festival. The winner will be announced at the Venice Film Festival in Italy in August (12) and will receive a $500,000 (£313,000) grant towards his or her next film, which will be co-executive produced by Fassbender.

MICHAEL FASSBENDER SERVES AS JUROR & PRODUCER FOR YOUTUBE’S ‘YOUR FILM FESTIVAL’ (Hollywood Outbreak)

Michael Fassbender, star of last year’s A Dangerous Method, Shame, and X-Men: First Class, will serve as a juror for Your Film Festival, a worldwide competition which invites artists and storytellers to enter a 15 minute video (covering any genre) to Youtube.com/yourfilmfestival.

 Ten finalists will have their work screened at the Venice International Film Festival, with the winner receiving a $500,000 YouTube Original Production Grant to work alongside director Ridley Scott’s Scott Free production company (Fassbender stars in Scott’s upcoming feature Prometheus).
