Clive Owen does his own stunts
Saturday 24 September 2011Clive Owen has revealed that he does his own stunt work in films.
The 46-year-old actor whose most recent film, Killer Elite, opened in Ireland yesterday, said that he does his own stunt work because it ultimately looks more authentic on screen.
"I think it's important because it's acting," Owen told Parade magazine. "I don't want someone else doing that for me. The intent and intensity, the stakes of something like that is an acting thing and you want to do that.
"That's the beauty of doing those fight scenes with [co-star Jason Statham]. He's so technically good and gifted in that area. I feel I'm pretty technical too and approach those scenes like any other. You want to make them believable and make sense."
Owen was one time touted as the next James Bond and previously played the title role in the action epic King Arthur which was shot on location in Ireland.
