DOWNTON ABBEY - THE MANTON ABBEY CLUB - CAST AND CREW EVENT

The Fan Carpet

On the 7th November at 1pm Julian Fellowes, Dan Stevens, Allen Leech and celebrity fans of Downton Abbey will be gathering at St Ermin’s Hotel in London, to celebrate the first meeting of The Manton Abbey Club, hosted by Christian O’Connell.

On the day of Downton Abbey Series 2’s Blu-ray and DVD release, The Manton Abbey Club will celebrate Downton Abbey’s devout male fan base and will include a chat with the cast about the appeal to men, a look back on Series Two and share their production experiences. The best bits from the chat will then appear on Absolute Radio the same week.

Home to the Crawley family for generations, Downton Abbey is at the heart of a changing landscape as World War I descends upon the idyllic world of its residents, threatening to change their lives forever. As servant and master alike are called to witness the horrors of the front line as the full force of the war takes its toll, traditional community barriers start to transform and the boundaries between classes begin to fade. With surprises and scandal around every corner, DOWNTON ABBEY SERIES 2 sees the relationships borne in Series 1 develop, and sacrifices of a personal and public nature transform the great house and its residents once and for all.

Written and created by Academy Award™ winner Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, The Young Victoria), DOWNTON ABBEY SERIES 2 boasts an all-star cast, including Hugh Bonneville (Lost in Austen), Maggie Smith (Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, Harry Potter), Elizabeth McGovern(Clash of the Titans), Michelle Dockery (Cranford), Dan Stevens (Sense & Sensibility), Penelope Wilton (Dr Who, Pride & Prejudice), Jim Carter (Cranford), Phyllis Logan (Lovejoy, Lip Service), Siobhan Finneran (Benidorm), Joanne Froggatt (Robin Hood), Rob James-Collier (Coronation Street), Brendan Coyle (Lark Rise to Candleford), and new cast member for Series 2, Amy Nuttall (Emmerdale).

Having achieved phenomenal popularity and a dedicated following during its first run, DOWNTON ABBEY SERIES 2 looks set to take the nation by storm once again with its potent blend of grandeur, gossip and glory, and is sure to become the must-have DVD & Blu-ray of the year, and the ideal gift this Christmas.

Alongside tantalising Series 2 episodes, the DVD & Blu-ray contains exclusive ‘Making of’ and behind the scenes featurettes including ‘House to Hospital’, ‘Fashion and Uniforms’ and ‘Romance in a Time Of War’ plus interviews with cast and key members of production including its creator Julian Fellowes.
