DOWNTON Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville poured praise on the ultimate mum - Julie Coghill - who last night was honoured for 15 years as a foster carer.

Hugh Bonneville, 47, who plays Lord Grantham, said: "To bring one life up and into the world is incredible enough but to do it over and over again is amazing."

Receiving a Special Recognition award presented by the Downton Abbey cast, she said: "I'm delighted and shocked. "It has been a great night. I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey so meeting some of the cast has capped a great night."

Julie, 38, from Edinburgh, has spent more than 15 years as a foster carer - taking in 45 desperately ill babies who were born addicted to drugs because their mothers were users during pregnancy.
Actress Joanne Froggatt, 31, who also stars in the hit ITV show, added: "I see my friends go through the hard bit of motherhood at the beginning but they have the rest of the life to look forward to.

"Julie just keeps doing the hard bit, again and again.
"I am delighted to be here, it is an honour to meet her."
