Slideshow: Rob Shanahan photos
It seems that wherever you can find Ringo Starr, you can find Rob Shanahan taking pictures of him. Shanahan's portrait of Ringo was used on the cover of the former Beatle's last album, "Y Not." He also took photos of Ringo and fellow Beatle Paul McCartney at their surprise reunion on Ringo's 70th birthday concert at Radio City Music Hall.
And Shanahan was also at Ringo's Grammy Museum appearance and Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies. His portfolio also includes pictures of Jeff Lynne, Keith Richards, Paul McCartney and Dave Stewart.
Now Shanahan's about to come out with a book of his photos called "Volume 1," with a foreward by -- guess who -- Ringo Starr.
Shanahan says the 224 page book will be "packed with my favorite music photos from the past 15 years, bound in a beautiful hardcover coffee table book" and will be available after Nov. 18.
A book launch party will be held Dec. 1 at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood featuring Sarah McLachlan and "special guests" in a benefit for Autism Speaks.
The book can be pre-ordered through his website www.robshanahan.com for $45. (Click on the Products tab.) For tickets to the launch, go to http://events.autismspeaks.org/bluetie.
