A new waxwork of the Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth has joined the A-list area at Madame Tussauds museum in London.
The British star who took Best Actor at the Academy Awards this year for his performance as King George IV in The King's Speech has taken a bow at the London attraction this morning.

The £150,000 wax statue stands between fellow Oscar winner Kate Winslet, a new addition last month, and David and Victoria Beckham.

Firth, also famous for his role as the dashing Mr Darcy in both film and telvision adaptations of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, has been fittingly immortalised in a black textured tuxedo complete with bow tie and pocket handkerchief. He is the eighth and last star to be unveiled there this year.

The next celebrity in line for is the seventeen year old Olympic diving champion, Tom Daley. He will arrive in February 2012, in time for the London Olympics.

Madame Tussauds this month celebrated the 250th anniversary of the birth of founder Marie Tussaud.
