Movie star Ewan Mcgregor has found himself a new best friend in his Beginners canine co-star.

The Scottish actor adopted poodle mix Sid after shooting the film with the pooch and now man and dog are inseparable.

McGregor says, “Sid is my first dog. He’s the family’s dog but he’s very much my dog. He’s very much attached to me.

“He comes filming with me. In a way, it’s a less lonesome experience. It’s nice to have someone to look out for.”

Ironically, his character in Beginners adopts the dog following the death of his father, played by Christopher Plummer.
