George Harrison: lost guitar solo tape found (RTT)

(RTTNews) - A previously unheard guitar solo by Beatles legend George Harrison from the track "Here Comes the Sun" has been discovered at Abbey Road Studios in London. The solo was initially cut by Harrison for inclusion on the track but never made the final album.

In a new video circulating the web, Harrison's son Dhani is seen discussing the solo with the Fab Four's longtime producer George Martin and Martin's son Giles. The three are seated around a mixing desk at Abbey Road and Dhani admits he had never heard the solo before.

"It's totally different to anything I've ever heard," Dhani says in the video. Sir George then adds: "I'd forgotten about that."

Dhani and the Martins uncovered the solo amidst a collection of master tapes. According to Spinner.com, the masters also feature a much greater quantity of Moog synthesizer sounds than are present in the final versions.
