The BBC is busy promoting the second series of Silk, the legal drama starring Rupert Penry-Jones OA and Maxine Peake. On Tuesday 8 May Maxine Peake was interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row and on Wednesday 9 May Rupert featured on BBC 1’s The One Show.
College Historian Dr Jan Piggott spoke on the programme about encouraging the 13 year old Rupert to try out for a school production of The Tempest after hearing him reading from Gerald Durrell. The BBC contacted the College Archive for images, although it did not in the end use the photograph (left) of Rupert as Dr Faustus.
The first episode of the new series of Silk will be aired on BBC 1 on Tuesday 22 May at 9pm.
