Henry Cavill discusses 'Fifty Shades of Grey' casting, nudity and the novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREYMAY 6, 2013 BY: BARBIE KAVETSKY (EXAMINER)

Cavill is known for his sexy nude scenes in "The Tudors" yet it appears the actor is backing away from what he calls "getting naked for the sake of it." While fans may not be thrilled with this revelation, he goes on to say that if there were nude scenes he "would not use a body double," since he is into the "physicality of acting." This should not rule him out completely for the role of Christian Grey since it sounds like he wants nude scenes to be crucial for a film, not just extra eye candy for viewers. Considering the depth and importance of the sex scenes in "Fifty Shades of Grey," he may see the necessity.

Nudity aside, Henry Cavill admits he hasn't even seen a script for "Fifty Shades of Grey." Although he has done a little research, reading a few opening chapters of the novel saying, "Not exactly chaste writing, is it?" Sounds like some of it may not be his cup of tea, "I've always preferred the implied sex scene anyway, because having it spelled out always seems a bit tacky. Sex is so readily available to us in every form of media now, so it's no longer that exciting on screen." Well, tell that to the throngs of "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans who are eager to see Christian and Ana on screen.

"Put it this way, I've not read a script, spoken to a producer or a director."
