Where did the stars of the Superman movie hang out in Chicago

They didn’t hit Chicago’s trendiest nightclubs like Michael Bay did while directing “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” but the stars of the Superman reboot “Man of Steel” weren’t locking themselves up in their hotel rooms either during their recent 10-day shoot in the city.
Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams, who filmed a scene outside of an apartment building near Water Tower Place mall Friday, dined at Gold Coast restaurants The Goddess & Grocer, Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse and Le Colonial. Co-star Laurence Fishburne dined at Le Colonial twice – both times alone. He also hung out at The Joynt in River North.
Superman himself, Henry Cavill, dined at Smith & Wollensky five days in a row last week, in addition to Gibsons the week before that. My friend happened to be sitting by Cavill at Smith & Wollensky Friday and said he was extremely friendly (and patient) when she asked for a photo after dinner. “I couldn’t get my camera phone to work at first,” she said. “He told me ‘No worries. Take your time.’”
Unlike Bay, “Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder kept a low profile during filming. Synder did, however, attend the movie’s Chicago wrap party Saturday at Rockit Bar & Grill, as did Cavill, after filming near Daley Plaza (extras could be seen screaming and running on West Washington Street).
“Man of Steel” actor Christopher Meloni, known for his role on NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” visited Japonais Thursday. Japonais is also where Bay and “Transformers” stars Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson were spotted throughout the filming of the robots-in-disguise sequel in 2010.
Gibson told me on Friday that it’s important for the cast and crew to get out while filming a big-budget action movie, even if it’s just for dinner.
“It’s such a busy shoot and your under so much pressure, so it’s a form of escapism,” said Gibson while promoting the Blu-ray and DVD release of “Fast Five” with co-star Jordana Brewster at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet. “It lets you just go and get that (stuff) off your mind. You have fun and then go and get back into the matrix.”
Did anyone involved with “Transformers” have more fun than Bay?
“I wasn’t keeping tabs on him like that,” Gibson said. “I was asleep.”
