Prince William and wife Kate have revealed they like to spend their Sunday evenings cuddled up on the sofa - watching Downton Abbey.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge told actress Jessica Brown Findlay - who plays Lady Sybil Crawley in the ITV drama - they were 'huge fans of the show'.

The 22-year-old star met the Royal newly-weds at a BAFTA event in Los Angeles, where she said they singled her out to speak to.

She told OK! magazine she was completely in awe of the Duke and Duchess.

'It wasn't exactly all in a day's work for me but it was for them, I'm sure,' she said.

'It felt surreal as an actress playing English aristocracy to meet them in LA.

'And as I am scared of flying it was already strange enough to be so far away, so I said to them: 'Can't we do this again in the UK?'

'It was wonderful.

'I was so starstruck, literally paralysed through the whole meeting.'

The show, which stars Dame Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville, is one of ITV’s most popular and has been praised by critics.

It picked up four Emmy awards, including the coveted best miniseries or TV movie Emmy.
