For years he carved a successful but limited career on stage and British TV adaptations, specialising in period dramas.
But his starring role as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey has opened doors for Dan Stevens.
The 30-year-old was hobnobbing with Hollywood's finest on Monday night at a star-studded event across the pond.
Luckily his new Broadway co-star Jessica Chastain was onhand to provide the introductions, as a besuited Dan joined Christina Ricci, Olivia Palermo and even Blondie's Debbie Harry at the New York bash.
