Crimson Peak Trailer

We officially have goose bumps!

In a newly released trailer of the horror flick Crimson Peak, the clip starts out in a dimly lit room with a trembling young girl who fears what may come out of the dark.

Mia Wasikowska portrays Edith, who grows up to be an aspiring author, torn between the love of an old friend and the romantic temptation of Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston). As Edith tries to escape the ghosts of her traumatic past, she becomes captive to a house that bleeds the truth.
"You see where I come from, ghosts are not to be taken lightly," the Thor star warns.

Director Guillermo del Toro's star-studded cast includes Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain, both adding elements to a thriller that will surely leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

'Crimson Peak' Spoilers: Charlie Hunnam Says 'Beautiful' Tom Hiddleston Film Is Guillermo Del Toro's Best

FASHION AND STYLE

(Photo : Getty/Kevin Winter) "Crimson Peak" star Charlie Hunnam

We officially have less than six months before Guillermo del Toro's "Crimson Peak" hits theaters, and with every crumb of information we get about the gothic horror we can't help but feel more and more excited. The latest, provided by star Charlie Hunnam to Details, is no exception:

It's beautiful, it's him absolutely in his wheelhouse. It's a classic Gothic romance set against a backdrop of this very rural house in the middle of nowhere. Everybody did a great job, Jessica [Chastain] absolutely killed it, she's wonderful in the film. I think it's one of Guillermo's best films, if not maybe his best film.

I'm actually not really in it that much, it's really Mia Wasikowska, Jessica, and Tom Hiddleston's film, and when I'm in it, it's significant, but I really just did it because I love Guillermo and wanted to work with him again. If it had been anybody else, I probably wouldn't have taken the role. I had to turn down a lot other stuff to be free to do that. People were like, "What the f**k are you doing?" but I'm doing exactly what I damn well please. That's my answer.

Tom HIddleston: Is ‘Crimson Peak’ Guillermo del Toro’s First Good English Film?

MOVIE CHEAT SHEET
Jacqueline Sahagian
February 16, 2015

The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s next movie has debuted and it looks like the creep master might have made his a film worthy of legitimate critical acclaim for the first time since his 2006 Spanish-language dark fantasy masterpiece Pan’s Labyrinth. Crimson Peak is a horror movie in the old-fashioned haunted house tradition that looks like it has del Toro in his element, pulling out all the stops to engage terrifying visuals and scare the crap out of viewers. A top-notch cast including Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, and Jessica Chastain means this will be much more than your average Halloween slasher.

In the past Del Toro has separated his “good” movies (Spanish-language efforts) from his more commercial and fun English-language efforts like Hellboy and Pacific Rim. Clearly comic book and pulpy films still have a place in the director’s heart, but he told iO9 that the chance to direct and produce Crimson Peak changed his perspective on his ability to do more thoughtful work in English. “I wanted to make a movie that was able to blend two sides of my personality. After I did Mimic… Mimic was such a tough experience that I said, ‘I’m going to do the painfully beautiful and creepy things in my Spanish-language films, and I’m going to do the big sort of pop-pulp fun movies in English.’”

Pan’s Labyrinth won three Oscars, was nominated for three others, and continues to be included on lists of the greatest recent movies, including the IMDb 250 compiled by the Internet Movie Database’s most loyal users. That film is a study of the Spanish Civil War and how a young girl uses her imagination to escape her brutal reality. After making Pan’s Labyrinth, del Toro focused more on the “pop-pulp fun” movies with Hellboy II in 2008 and Pacific Rim in 2013. His new horror TV show The Strain on FX has gotten decent reception and has been picked up for another season. Nothing he’s made since Pan’s Labyrinth has gotten the same kind of critical acclaim, but Crimson Peak could change that.

Like Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak has a young female heroine at its center. While there is an element of romance used to kick off the story, as is common in the gothic tradition, del Toro says that was never meant to be the focus.

“I wanted to tackle a great adult story for a female lead,” del Toro told iO9. “I think it’s great when the female lead [is in] a normal romantic story, but then we live past that. Past getting the guy — fuck all that shit — we see her becoming her own person. We do what is done in gothic romance. We have the thriller aspect of it, we have the romance, brutal moments, and we have scary ghosts — but scarier people than ghosts. It’s a beautiful confection, and I hope you enjoy it.”

Will Tom Hiddleston Be At The 2015 Oscars? Let's Keep Our Fingers Crossed

BUSTLE
DANIELA CABRERA

4 HOURS AGO ENTERTAINMENT
February 2, 2015

My favorite time of year, awards season, is slowly coming to an end. Now I have to actually start being a responsible human being and think about things other than mani-cams, embarrassing red carpet interviews, and possible Lupita Nyong’o and Jared Leto canoodling sessions. Actually the latter won’t end for me because I am convinced it is true love. Anyway, none of this has to happen until the day after Feb. 22, the day of the 2015 Oscars. So now, I can proudly and unabashedly continue my very important inquiries like: will Tom Hiddleston be the Oscars this year?

We here at Bustle have quite a loving history with Tom Hiddleston, and he is one of the few celebs whose positive attitude and beautiful face continue to make everyone smile because… just look at him! While we have speculated about Hiddleston’s appearance at this years Golden Globes and SAG Awards, Hiddleston was a no-show to both of the events which isn’t a good sign for the Oscars, but I, for one, refuse to lose hope!

Jessica Chastain, his co-star in the upcoming Crimson Peak, has been making the rounds for her role in A Most Violent Year and they have become the cutest of karaoke friends, so I like to think that Hiddles will be on hand at the Oscars to celebrate and promote along with her. (He has another very close celeb friend, too, but we can get into that later.)

My final hope is that since the list for the 2015 Oscars presenters has yet to be released, it could very well include Hiddleston. But, in case he and his publicist/whoever is out there reading this desperate plea, here are some of the reasons why he should definitely be there this year.

To Support His BFF

Benedict Cumberbatch, also known as one half of the greatest actor bromance of all time, HiddleBatch, has been out and about on the carpets for his nominations for The Imitation Game. Since Cumberbatch has been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar, it only makes sense that his BFF will be there by his side for emotional support, whether it’s to help celebrate or drown in his sorrows, because thats what friends are for.

To Promote His Upcoming Films

We are about to see a lot more of Hiddleston on the big screen in 2015 seeing as he has four movies scheduled to be released. It only makes sense that he start promoting some of these ahead of time, even though I have a feeling he won’t need that much help to make them successful. He could also use the Oscars to shmooze with some future collaborators over some cocktails because he needs to start lining up 2016!

A Sex Scene in Tom Hiddleston Film 'Crimson Peak' Is Confirmed So Prepare Yourself With His 10 Steamiest Scenes

BUSTLE

That Mischievious Loki Smile

Technically he’s trying to be evil here, not sexy. But he brilliantly achieves both. Those are some serious bedroom eyes.

Big news for Hiddlestoners! Crimson Peak will feature a Tom Hiddleston sex scene, and what could be better than that? Jessica Chastain, his co-star in the horror film, dished to MTV about the steamy moment. “Well, there is a Tom Hiddleston sex scene, boys! I know! So you guys. Not gonna say who, but there is some, you know. You can calm down.”

Ha. Calm down. That’s cute, Jessica. What she doesn’t know is that the Hiddleston fandom is having a collective freakout right now. But there’s no need to panic. Hiddleston has prepared us for this. He’s had quite a few sensual moments in his films before. Crimson Peak won’t be released until October 2015, which means fans have plenty of time to get excited for the movie, and specifically the Hiddles mystery sex scene.

But in the meantime, I’m here to tide you all over with his steamiest moments to date. That way you’ll have some idea of what to expect when Crimson Peak hits theaters later this year. I can’t promise it still won’t overwhelm you when the time comes, but as the Girl Scout motto says: always be prepared. And what better way to prepare than to look at a list of Tom Hiddleston’s sexiest moments?

Saying He Loves You

A marriage proposal from Hiddles himself is a very sexy moment indeed. This particular bit is from Return to Cranford. I suggest listening to the audio alongside the GIF and pretending he’s talking to you. Not that I’ve done that, or anything.

Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton were all smiles on Friday night as they made their first red carpet appearance as parents-to-be. Pregnant Keira showed off her growing bump in a bold yellow dress as she and her husband joined stars at the BAFTA TV Tea Party in LA.

Former Klaxons musician James, who tied the knot with Keira in France in May 2013, was supporting his wife as she prepares to make numerous appearances throughout awards season.

Keira's role alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in historical thriller The Imitation Game has earned her several nominations, including Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes, which take place on 11 January.

James will no doubt be cheering his 29-year-old wife on as she goes up against Jessica Chastain, Patricia Arquette, Meryl Streep and Emma Stone during Sunday night's ceremony in LA.

Tom Hiddleston Will Rule the Big Screen in 2015

MOVIES CHEAT SHEET
Michelle Regalado
January 4, 2015

Tom Hiddleston may currently be best known for his turn as a fan favorite villain from Marvel’s Thor series, but that’s all set to change over the course of the next year. Judging from the wide-ranging list of projects the actor is scheduled to take on in the coming months, it looks as if Hiddleston is about to rule 2015 the same way that many proclaimed fellow British actor Benedict Cumberbatch owned 2014.

As of now, Hiddleston has four movies set to hit the big screen in 2015, which span the genres — from biographical to horror. By far, the most well-known and highly anticipated of these projects is a little film called Avengers: Age of Ultron. The sequel to the hugely successful superhero franchise will feature the actor reprising his famous role as Thor’s evil brother, Loki, alongside other returning cast members Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson, among others. Though the blockbuster isn’t set to hit theaters until May, fans have been eagerly poring over details regarding the film’s plot and cast for months now, with excitement reaching a particular high after this summer’s Comic Con.3

While Age of Ultron will be the actor’s biggest movie to soon hit the screen, Hiddleston will also be moving well beyond the superhero role he’s most known for in the next year. Following the release of the Avengers sequel, the actor is also set to star in the forthcoming horror flick Crimson Peak, currently scheduled for release on October 16. While not as high-profile as the former, Crimson Peak has drawn public interest for its high-quality cast and creative team.3

Directed and written by prolific filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro, the project is set in a crumbling mansion in a rural region of northern England in the 19th century. Hiddleston stars as Sir Thomas Sharpe, the charming new husband to young author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) who turns out not to be whom he appears to be. Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam also co-star.What do you think?

Another Hiddleston project drawing plenty of attention? The upcoming biopic, I Saw the Light, which is set to hit theaters sometime in 2015. The actor will be playing the titular role in the film, based on the 1994 book Hank Williams: The Biography, and he’s already started preparing. Hiddleston made headlines earlier this month for covering two different Williams’ songs during a surprise performance at Michigan’s Wheatland Music Festival. The resulting footage quickly went viral, and though there wasn’t enough to tell if he’d be able to do the country star justice, it was certainly enough to stir up all kinds of buzz for the film, which co-stars Elizabeth Olsen as Williams’s wife, Audrey Mae.

Get A First Glimpse At Tom Hiddleston And Mia Wasikowska In Crimson Peak

WE GOT THIS COVERED
By Gem Seddon on January 2nd, 2015

Guillermo Del Toro’s gothic haunted house caper, Crimson Peak, is primed to send shivers down our collective spines this October. Yes, that may be a long, LONG way off as we are only two days into the New Year, but luckily, a crop of scans from the latest issues of Total Film and Empire (via CBM) have landed online. This quartet of images offer us our first look at two of the main cast members: Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska.

tom hiddleston 2 crimson peak Get A First Glimpse At Tom Hiddleston And Mia Wasikowska In Crimson Peak

The leading foursome is rounded out by Jessica Chastain – who we saw decked out in full period garb last month – and Charlie Hunnam. While Hunnam’s the last to be granted a photo reveal, this new batch of pictures promise an equally spooky look for him as well.

mia wasikowska crimson peak Get A First Glimpse At Tom Hiddleston And Mia Wasikowska In Crimson Peak

In the first image, Hiddleston stands before a large wooden staircase, which is presumably the same flight we saw Chastain poised in front of last month. His second photo shows him swallowed by the enormity of the grand house, which appears to be on the dilapidated side of things. Wasikowska, on the other hand, looks suitably coiffed while clutching a candelabra in one pic, and revealing a lot of back in another.

Movie review: Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy make 'Rigby' a worthy trip

EL PASO TIMES
By Jocelyn Noveck
The Associated Press
POSTED:   01/02/2015 12:00:00 AM MST

NEW YORK >> All the lonely people. Where do they all belong?

You won't hear that line in "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them" (more on that title in a moment), a highly absorbing if unwieldy film starring Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy as a couple struggling to cope — apart and together — with tragedy.

In fact, you don't hear any of that famous Beatles song. But it doesn't matter, because you'll probably be hearing it in your head. It's also an apt 12-word summary of the broader life issues the movie addresses. We're all alone, essentially, no matter how close we grow to others. We're born alone, we die alone, and in between, we cope alone. No one can cope for us.

Not that "Eleanor," written and directed by Ned Benson in his debut feature, is a total downer of a movie. It can't be, with the luminous Chastain and the appealing McAvoy heading an almost ridiculously high-quality cast. "Eleanor" is about messiness, and risk — in life and in love. But it's not all sad.

A word about the format, for those coming in cold: "Eleanor" was originally made as a pair of movies, "Her" and "Him," each a full-length film from the point of view of one character, and made to be seen in either order.

Then the Weinstein Company decided to make "Them," a more conventional approach, edited from the other two. Some who saw the first versions at festivals have objected that much has been lost. But the rest of us need to judge "Them" on its own merits. And it's an engrossing film.

Chastain plays Eleanor — yes, last name Rigby — an anthropology student who never finished her thesis. McAvoy plays Conor, a young bar owner. We meet them as they're discovering the intoxication of first love. It is indeed intoxicating; Chastain and McAvoy have a lovely chemistry.

Cut to an indeterminate time later. Eleanor is pale and troubled. We see her take a desperate act; we don't know why.

The film then follows both Eleanor's route to recovery (we're being intentionally vague here), and Conor's efforts to track her down. We learn that the two are married, and have suffered a grave setback.

Either Conor or Eleanor is onscreen at all times. Occasionally, they're together. These scenes are what we wait for: They often crackle with conflicted emotion, and, in one case, deep, unforgettable heartbreak. Chastain's Eleanor is nervous, flitty, on edge, but every so often her smile breaks the melancholy, and it boy, delivers. This movie only cements Chastain's status as one of the most compelling actors of her generation. It's hard to look away from her. And why would you?

Perhaps this enhances McAvoy's performance, for Conor can't look away from Eleanor, either. He's possessed by love, but also frustrated and mystified by it. Kudos to the Scottish actor, first for his flawless American accent, and second for finding a way to so deftly command his own space onscreen, alongside a fiery presence like Chastain's.

When Does Tom Hiddleston's 'Crimson Peak' Come Out? You'll Be Waiting a Long Time For the Film's Perfection

BUSTLE
MARTHA SORREN @MARTHASORREN
6 HOURS AGO ENTERTAINMENT

It seems like it’s been so long since fans have gotten to see Tom Hiddleston on the big screen. Thor 2 came out a whole year ago now, but, luckily, the actor’s had a busy year full of filming for various projects. So when can we expect to see Hiddleston’s latest movie Crimson Peak? Unfortunately, not for awhile. Director Guillermo Del Toro is being a perfectionist and, though the movie wrapped filming early last summer, it won’t be released until October 2015.

I’m sad that Hiddlestoners have to wait another year to see the actor on the big screen, especially since Crimson Peak sounds awesome. Hiddleston plays the sinister husband in the “anti-romance” flick, and I want that now — not a year from now.

Fans had held onto hope that we’d at least get a trailer soon, but Del Toro has dashed those dreams as well. Speaking to the Franchise Herald, he talked about how he’s taking his sweet time when it comes to putting out a preview for the film.

Well, since we have the luxury of time because the movie doesn’t come out until October next year… originally, I was going to deliver it in December, and I’d been able to try different things, different cuts, tweak the effects, tweak the music, probably more than any movie I’ve ever done. I have the license now to deliver the movie in January or February. It’s frankly addictive to have that much time.

Sean Bean joins Matt Damon in the cast of Ridley Scott's film of The Martian...

DEN OF GEEK
Simon Brew 10/21/2014 at 10:04AM

The human movie spoiler returns. Sean Bean, next to be seen on the big screen in The Wachowskis' delayed Jupiter Ascending, has landed a role in Ridley Scott's upcoming adaptation of Andy Weir's book, The Martian.

Bean joins a cast that includes Matt Damon, Jeff Daniels, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Kristen Wiig, and Jessica Chastain. And he'll be taking on the role of NASA's flight director in the movie. Having read the book over the past week, unless there's a significant detour taking with the screenplay, this role is going to offer something radically different for Bean: survival chances.

'Crimson Peak' News: 2015 Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam Film Is 'Looking Good,' Got Great Response At Screening — Will We See A Trailer Soon?

FASHION & STYLE

We're still waiting to see the "Crimson Peak" trailer, narrated by star Tom Hiddleston, which aired at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, but we've gotten a few juicy tidbits about the film over the past few months.

For starters, it's the reason director Guillermo del Toro dropped out of Warner Bros. upcoming adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast".

"[Warner Bros.] have a deadline to meet with the project that completely intersects with my delivery of 'Crimson Peak'," del Toro explained. "And 'Crimson Peak' I cannot rush. I am probably the proudest of this movie of anything that I’ve ever done. I want to be very meticulous."

The director also offered up some information about the film Comic-Con.

"It’s a gothic romance," he said, just before introducing the trailer. "It’s R-rated. It has incredible beauty, but it’s also very violent." He later added that the movie will feature "scary ghosts, but scarier people than ghosts," and that he was glad for the opportunity to create a "great adult story for a female lead."

More recently, Charlie Hunnam, who plays Dr. Alan McMichael in "Crimson Peak" gave some insight into his character.

"Yeah, really different," he revealed, when asked if the role is a departure from the status quo for him. "It’s kind of a very sweet, shy, quiet, dorky dude who doesn’t get the girl."

IS TOM HIDDLESTON SINGLE & ARE YOU TOO SCARED TO KNOW THE ANSWER?

BUSTLE
GEORGETTE EVA @GEORGETTEABLYSO 4 HOURS AGO ENTERTAINMENT

There’s something that’s been leaving so many of us scratching our heads for the past year or so. Something we’ve all wondered but were too afraid to ask in case our worst fears were confirmed. For one, it deals with the delicate nature of the heart. For another, it deals with the man we’ve all been fantasizing about. That’s right, I’m wondering if Tom Hiddleston’s single, and you should go ahead and admit that you are too. It’s actually a matter of international security, considering he’s from London. And it’s an intergalactic matter, too, seeing as his most famous character, Loki, lived in Asgard. So I’m really doing a service to the entire universe by investigating this.

Let’s start off with what we know. Hiddleston, like many celebrities, has been tight lipped about his dating history, though there were a few recent rumors involving actresses Jessica Chastain and Lara Pulver. Both ladies made light of the reports, and there hasn’t been any reason to believe any secret relationships are brewing.

So what about now? Is Hiddleston single? Here are some reasons why he’s probably not dating anyone.

HE WOULD TELL US

Despite last summer’s relationship with record producer Jane Arthy — everyone nearly fainted when the Elle UK editor-in-chief tweeted that she sat next to Tom Hiddleston and his girlfriend Jane at Wimbledon — by fall Hiddleston was saying he was single. In an interview with British GQ he said,

I understand the curiosity. I hope when there’s really something to write about, then I’ll be able to talk.

See? When it’s serious, Hiddleston won’t be able to contain himself and all his feels and would want the whole world to know.

WE HAVEN’T SEEN HIM HAND-IN-HAND WITH ANYONE

In 2010, Hiddleston was rumored to be dating Thor costar Kat Dennings and her hilarious self. Seriously, this was one couple I rooted for. Of course, there was no official word about their relationship, but they were hand-in-hand at Comic Con and at a few other events, but they broke up in 2011 before the movie was released. Hand-in-hand, you guys. If we were in second grade, that would practically be marriage right there.

HE DIDN’T CHALLENGE AN S.O. TO THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE
