When Does Tom Hiddleston's 'Crimson Peak' Come Out? You'll Be Waiting a Long Time For the Film's Perfection

BUSTLE
MARTHA SORREN @MARTHASORREN
6 HOURS AGO ENTERTAINMENT

It seems like it’s been so long since fans have gotten to see Tom Hiddleston on the big screen. Thor 2 came out a whole year ago now, but, luckily, the actor’s had a busy year full of filming for various projects. So when can we expect to see Hiddleston’s latest movie Crimson Peak? Unfortunately, not for awhile. Director Guillermo Del Toro is being a perfectionist and, though the movie wrapped filming early last summer, it won’t be released until October 2015.

I’m sad that Hiddlestoners have to wait another year to see the actor on the big screen, especially since Crimson Peak sounds awesome. Hiddleston plays the sinister husband in the “anti-romance” flick, and I want that now — not a year from now.

Fans had held onto hope that we’d at least get a trailer soon, but Del Toro has dashed those dreams as well. Speaking to the Franchise Herald, he talked about how he’s taking his sweet time when it comes to putting out a preview for the film.

Well, since we have the luxury of time because the movie doesn’t come out until October next year… originally, I was going to deliver it in December, and I’d been able to try different things, different cuts, tweak the effects, tweak the music, probably more than any movie I’ve ever done. I have the license now to deliver the movie in January or February. It’s frankly addictive to have that much time.

TOM HIDDLESTON WINS 2013 CELEB OF THE YEAR: HIS 13 BEST MOMENTS FROM THE PAST YEAR

BUSTLE
By Martha Sorren
December 31, 2013

Tom Hiddleston is poised to win this year’s E! Online ‘Celeb of the Year’ contest. The winner will be announced tonight after he and competition Ian Somerhalder went head-to-head in a poll earlier this week. Hiddleston totally deserves to win after the year he’s had touring the world to promote Thor 2: The Dark World and making press stops look like the most fun in the world. Thank goodness he was Marvel’s PR monkey though, because that means we got a lot of Tom in 2013. Needless to say it was hard to choose just his top 13 moments, but I gave it a shot.

1. DANCING AND KNOCKING THINGS OVER
I could make a whole post just about best times Tom Hiddleston’s danced (hint: the answer is all the times), but I’ve chosen to focus on when he dances and it just so uncontrollably excited that he isn’t responsible for the damages he inflicts on inanimate objects. On the Asia leg of his tour he first introduced his moves to us and we felt like the chair he kicked over. But in a good way. We felt kicked over with delight.

2. THE SLUMBER PARTY
Hiddles in pajamas sitting on a bed talking about the time he saw Chris Hemsworth naked and introducing the Snake Hips dance move to us? Yes please.

3. THAT TIME HE CRASHED COMIC CON
In full on Loki gear and then proceeded to give everyone in the room orders which they all obeyed because obviously.

4. HIS STINT ON KOREAN SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
I don’t know how they convinced him to do some of the sketches in this, but I’m glad they did because now we have an old woman titty-twisting Tom for posterity.

5. THAT TIME HE SURPRISED UNDERPRIVILEGED KIDS WITH A THOR 2 SCREENING
Because he’s amazingly nice, he took time out of his schedule to throw a surprise screening of Thor 2 for some of New York City’s underprivileged children. They thought they were just lucky enough to see the movie, but also got to meet Hiddleston. “Oh my God, I screamed for my life,” 13-year-old Bryonnah Justinian said of the moment Hiddleston stepped onto the stage. But the best part about the actor is that it wasn’t even a chore for him. He said, “There are armies of people behind the scenes who do tireless work on behalf of children all over the world. So it’s nothing for me to turn up and introduce a screening for them.”

6. LOKI ARGUES WITH KIDS
Further proving that he’d be about the best dad ever, Hiddleston booked another gig with some kids to promote the movie. In the skit he argues with a bunch of children about why Loki is better than Thor. It’s truly precious.

Box office: 'Thor 2' hammers the competition with $31.6 million on Friday Marvel sequel looking at an $80 million opening weekend

HIT FIX
By Dave Lewis   Saturday, Nov 9, 2013 1:23 PM

Once again, Thor is working his magic at the box office.

Marvel's "Thor 2: The Dark World" ruled the box office Friday night, debuting to a mighty $31.6 million.

The film -- starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christopher Eccleston and Tom Hiddleston -- is expected to earn around $80 million in its opening weekend.

"Thor" opened internationally last weekend, and it will likely cross the $300 million mark globally this weekend.

The sequel is out-pacing the original, which opened in May of 2011. That film scored $25.4 million on opening day and went out to earn $65.7 million in its debut weekend. However, Thor can't compete with his fellow Avenger Tony Stark. Earlier this year, "Iron Man 3" earned a whopping $68.8 million on opening day, on its way to a $174.4 million opening weekend.

Tom Hiddleston looks up to Daniel Day-Lewis (FAN SHARE)

BY: ELIZABETH DARRELL

Tom Hiddleston is slowly starting to build an impressive resume for himself in Hollywood, but he admits that there's no one he looks up to more than Daniel Day-Lewis. The Thor 2 star recently won the Best Breakthrough at the South Bank Sky Art Awards, but he has maintained that he has a long way to go before he's in the league of actors like Day-Lewis.

While discussing his recently wrapped films, including Thor 2 and Only Lovers Left Alive, Hiddleston admitted that he's trying to find theater work next. He explains that he's sifting through scripts, saying, "I always try to stay true to a code about choosing work. I never want to just do a job for a job's sake, I want to do it because it is something I believe in."

Ray Stevenson: ‘Dexter’ receives 5 nominations in 4 categories for the 39th Saturn Awards By Ste Taylor at 2:30 pm, February 21, 2013 - @stevenjtay (HYPABLE)

Showtime’s flagship show, Dexter, has received 5 nominations in the upcoming 39th Saturn Awards, but will Dexter hold off the competition?

The Saturn Awards are quite an exclusive group to be nominated for as The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror only recognise the very best television shows of these genres, and it’s with pleasure we can announce that Dexter has been nominated for a total of 5 awards.

Dexter has been a huge television favourite for 7 years now, and having already picked up 5 wins at the Saturn Awards since 2006, the crew behind Dexter are surely wanting to put their three year dry spell behind them after last claiming a Saturn Award back in 2009 for Julie Benz’s win in the Best Supporting Actress Role in a Television Series.

Dexter has been nominated for Best Cable Television Series, Best Television Actor (Michael C. Hall), Best Supporting Actress (Jennifer Carpenter) and two nominations for Dexter have fallen in the Best Guest Starring Role in a Series, with Yvonne Strahovski and Ray Stevenson competing for that accolade.

And, with 5 nominations in the bag, surely Dexter will pick up at least one of these awards? It’s going to be tough, no doubt.

Tom Hiddleston Wanted to Direct "Thor" Sequel Posted: December 25th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff (WORST PREVIEWS)

Now that Tom Hiddleston is becoming a household name, he is getting interested in getting behind the camera. In fact, he approached Marvel head Kevin Feige about directing the upcoming "Thor" sequel.

The actor recently sat down with Empire magazine and was asked whether he has any interest in directing. "Yes, I do," he replied. "I did ask, half-jokingly, Kevin Feige about directing 'Thor 2' and he said, 'Do you have something to show me?' I said 'no.' He said, 'If you made something and showed me, I might consider it.' But it's better for the world that he said no. It would be such a responsibility, but I think I'd enjoy it."

The job eventually went to Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones") and is now set to hit theaters on November 8th, 2013.

'Avengers 2': Tom Hiddleston doubts Loki return (DIGITAL SPY)

By Mark Langshaw

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston has admitted he may not be asked to reprise his role as Loki in the movie's sequel.

The Thor actor told MSN that he has not spoken to director Joss Whedon about the follow-up, but believes audiences would prefer to see a new villain in the film.

"I don't know. And that really is the honest answer. I know I've been known for obfuscation in other quarters, but I have no idea," he said when asked about revisiting the part.

"I haven't spoken to Joss. He's definitely doing it. So I suspect not, only because I think that probably the audiences are tired of Loki being the bad guy. Maybe the Avengers need somebody else to fight. But I'd love to be part of it again."

Tom Hiddleston talks about starring in Thor 3 (FANSHARE)

Tom Hiddleston rose to fame by portraying Loki in ‘Thor’ and the ‘Avengers’, and he’s now talking about the chances of returning for ‘Thor 3’.  We know that Tom is finishing filming on the second one, Thor: The Dark World, but he hasn’t been confirmed for the third one.

When asked about it in an interview with the Huffington Post UK, he says, "These kind of films, not to get too heavy about it, all depend on the financial success of the one before, so we'll have to see."

He also talks about being shocked at the critical and commercial reaction to the Avengers, saying, “You never count your chickens.  When you're inside it, you're just thinking, 'I hope I haven't screwed this up.' You don't want to be the weakest link in the chain."

THOR 2 (2013): TOM HIDDLESTON CONFIRMS ICELAND VISIT CBN › Posted by: Matt McGloin, Editor/Publisher October 22, 2012 21:42 | Updated: 2 days

An earlier report that surfaced from the filming of Thor 2, "The Dark World," in Iceland said that a major battle between Thor vs. Loki was taking place that featured 500 extras.

Not much else is known about the scene and no set images have surfaced as of yet, but we go get confirmation that Tom Hiddleston was in fact in Iceland.

Perhaps Loki himself sent out the following tweet from Tom Hiddleston's Twitter account as we see mention of Iceland and what may be an enigmatic clue:

Sometimes the answer is to climb the nearest mountain and everything is better. Literally. Not a metaphor. #iceland

Tom Hiddleston: Details on Loki's role in Thor: The Dark World (411 MANIA.COM)

Will he be an ally or an enemy?

It appears that, despite not being the main villain, Loki will be at odds with his brother for at least a portion of Thor: The Dark World. As we've previously reported, Tom Hiddleston is confirmed to be returning as Loki and Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who) is playing the primary villain in Malekith the Accursed. Now, the Icelandic website Visir reports that the production filmed a scene that sheds a tiny bit of light on Loki's actions in the film.

According to the site—which notes that Thor 2 is the fourth film to be shot in Iceland this year following Oblivion, Darren Aronofsky's Noah and Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty—the film crew shot "a big fight scene between Thor and Loki" that involved about 500 people on-set. That obviously suggests some kind of larger battle scene as opposed to a one-on-one skirmish.

TOM HIDDLESTON SAYS THOR 2 IS “UTTERLY BRILLIANT” AND PLAYING LOKI IS AWESOME by Jill Pantozzi | 2:48 pm, August 6th, 2012 (THE MARY SUE)

If you’ve seen or read Tom Hiddleston talking about his Thor/The Avengers character, Loki, you know he’s like a kid in a candy store. It’s obvious the actor takes great joy not only in the role but fans’ love of the role. In a recent interview, Hiddleston got to talking about why he loves Loki so much and even spilled a bit about Thor: The Dark World.

Hiddleston spoke with Total Film about Loki and tried to get as much out of him about Thor 2 as possible.

“The best thing about being Loki is that he is my diametric opposite. Physically, he is a photo negative of who I am. Loki is dark and pale, and I am light and fair. Also spiritually I am not much like him either. Yet I feel an incredible freedom in playing him,” he said. “He is a combination of mercurial intellectual ability, emotional ambiguity, rakish charm, charisma and provocative wit. He has a wicked inclination to mischief, underneath which is a well of spiritual pain. Both these aspects are central to his depth as a character: his unashamed and perverse delight in creating chaos; and his capacity for raw emotional expression.”

And he threw in this for good measure:

“And – as my American friends tell me – he’s kind of a badass! He’s one of the richest, most rewarding, most fun characters I’ve ever played.”

Not to be upstaged by potential villainous newcomer, Christopher Eccleston, Tom Hiddleston recently commented on his own villain, Loki, in the upcoming Marvel sequel, Thor: The Dark World.   After starring as the trickster in both Thor and The Avengers, Hiddleston talks at length about the character’s complexity, how he feels about director Alan Taylor’s vision for Thor 2 and what fans can expect to see in the sequel.  Hit the jump to see what Hiddleston has to say.

Also starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Zachary Levi, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Skarsgard and Kat Dennings, Thor: The Dark World will open November 8th, 2013.

After receiving his fan award for “Hottest Actor” from the Total Film Hotlist Awards (via CBM), Hiddleston talked in depth about playing Loki in Thor: The Dark World.  Here’s a sample of what he had to say (for the full interview, head over to Total Film):

On the topic of Loki’s mental state:

“Underneath the steely cold veneer of his trickster charm is a certain vulnerability and sensitivity – the wounded fragility of an outcast brother and son. His mind IS a box of cats though! But I love him.”

Tom Hiddleston Says Thor: The Dark World is 'Brilliant' Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.05.2012 (411MANIA.COM)

Tom Hiddleston recently spoke with TotalFilm about playing Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, looking ahead to Thor 2 and more. Check out the highlights:

On why Loki has made such a strong impression on fans: "I don't know. In the words of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner: 'Loki's mind is a box of cats. You can smell crazy on him!' In all seriousness though, I have received a lot of incredibly passionate and articulate letters from fans, explaining how they're drawn to Loki's psychological and emotional complexity; that he's a villain you can almost root for; a villain you can love to hate, or hate to love. Underneath the steely cold veneer of his trickster charm is a certain vulnerability and sensitivity – the wounded fragility of an outcast brother and son. His mind IS a box of cats though! But I love him."

Actors Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth Get Physical on ‘Avengers’ By Jenalyn Villamarin (INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TIMES)

"Avengers" star, Tom Hiddleston, told Chris Hemsworth to really hit him. Chris Hemsworth stands 6'3" tall and he even gained 20 pounds of muscle to portray Marvel Comics' hero, Thor.

He is equally adept at swinging his fists with his mythical hammer. So who exactly in the world would volunteer to be actually punched by him? Well, it is none other than his co-star Tom Hiddleston.

Hiddleston reprises the role of Loki who was first seen in last year's hit film "Thor." He is the adopted brother of the "God of Thunder" with an apocalyptic case of sibling rivalry.

Loki assembles an army to conquer the planet and it will take the combined strength of Earth's mightiest heroes to stop him. Basically, one of the most anticipated scenes in the film "Avengers" would be the climactic battle between Thor and Loki. In an interview with Tom Hiddleston, the actor has explained that most of the fighting on-screen was indeed real.

Tom Hiddleston: I was 'rubbish' in Thor By: Bang Showbiz (WINNIPEG FREE PRESS)

Tom Hiddleston thought he was "rubbish" in 'Thor'.

The 31-year-old star feels "very lucky" that director Joss Whedon enjoyed his performance as Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) brother Loki in the Kenneth Branagh-helmed superhero movie, so much so he wanted him to play a big part in 'Avengers Assemble'.

He said: "There was no guarantee that it was going to be such a big part, I think. And I also felt like I'd been rubbish in 'Thor' - there was no way I was going to come back.

"So it was one step at a time and I was very lucky that, as we were coming to the end of shooting 'Thor', Ken Branagh showed Joss a rough cut of the film and Joss loved it, he loved what Ken had done with it and was really about what Chris and I had done on it.

"And [Whedon] said, 'I want to take that relationship and make the stakes higher. You've got these two brothers who are fighting each other and now what's at stake is the fate of Planet Earth, because that's what's going on.' So it's really exciting."
