Cinedigm acquires 'Arthur Newman': Dante Ariola pic debuted at the Toronto Film Festival November 09, 2012|Dave McNary | Variety (CHICAGO TRIBUNE)



Cinedigm Entertainment Group has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to Dante Ariola's "Arthur Newman," two months after the drama premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

Cinedigm said it plans a theatrical release in mid-2013, followed by on-demand, premiumdigital, DVD, and TV releases.

The movie stars Colin Firth and Emily Blunt with a script written by Becky Johnston ("Seven Years in Tibet") in a story of a sad sack who he stages his own death and buys himself a new identity as Arthur Newman. His road trip towards a new life is interrupted by the arrival of a woman who is also trying to leave her past behind.
